OT-does anyone work with folks in India? sigh

Wow, I am trying really hard...but this really stresses me out. It seems there is always an excuse for everything. Is it me being a witch or do others also have issues?

Unfortunately all business cultures, regardless of continent, seems to run into the same issues.

For me it's China and Costa Rica. I've been wary of doing business with India because without someone who knows the ins and outs of it, there is no way to really navigate through it without getting your ass handed to you.

With CR and China, we stopped accepting excuses, and it was just, either get this done or you lose the business. And we would shop around for other people, because word travels.

You need someone on the other end on their butt every day. It's tiring.

Wow, I really tried...there was just ONE GUY that I worked with really well WHILE EVERYONE ELSE THERE was on vacation! But once the others were back, all hell broke lose again. It's like everything is somebody else's fault...but then when I turn around and say, "if this is broken because of X, and this is broken because of Y, then really, WTH are you doing? your team doesn't check X or Y, you just do as you are told..." So in other words, idiots, then you are charging us for thousands of hours of work but then anything that is wrong is not YOUR fault, because it's someone else who broke it, so what did you really do? NOTHING! ahhhh...ok, vent over. Not sure I can handle this. Heck, I work with Japan...they are as picky as one can get, but they never just pass the buck.

Ah Japan may not always pass the buck, but they can end up screwing you over too with their constant "yes-ness." They lead you down thinking one road and then turns out they never had the idea in the first place!

Just remember, work is work, don't let it leak into your feelings. Detach! At the end of the day, it is nothing that won't sooner or later be solved.

I was told this by our lead sales engineer, she said it's the only way to keep yourself sane!
