Funny, another instance of SS saying what I think
SO took SS13 summer clothes shopping today. SO was discussing how he's going to limit SD16's spending and she won't need as much. Actually his words were, "I'm going to try..."
SS13 says, dad don't let her spend so much. She gets crap she doesn't need and sometime doesn't even wear. All she has to say to you is "That would be nice to have and you buy it. But she has so much stuff she doesn't wear or use."
Then SO goes in to how expensive her clothes are. I get that girls clothes can be pricey, but I just said "you let her be expensive". Of course, then its poor SD because I don't understand how hard it is to buy clothes when you're overweight. Thus you must spend more money. No all women have problems finding thing that fit nicely and flatter your body. ALL and you cannot tell me that they have to go to the expensive teen stores to get it. Not to mention, SD's clothes are NOT flattering on her unless you think that wearing too tight too short and too low cut shorts with super tight shirt that outlines your folds and mushroom top is flattering.
Ok, I'm done.

Lol well personally, i think you should take that as free reign to go the most expensive maternity store you can find-- and buy the whole shop. After all, "it's hard to find things that fit when you are carrying a child. SO just doesn't get it, because he's never had that problem. "

WHy the hell didn't I think of that. Actually, he's been getting me some clothes, but I am being practical and buying off of the clearance racks.

Helena - doesn't clothes come out of the CS budget? I would be mighty incensed if DH, as well as the obscene amount of CS, appeared to be clothing the SDs at designer stores as well. The SDs get a generous allowance from him as it is.

You would think, but BM doesn't buy clothes often. Yep SD goes to the nicer stores and has a job now. I love that SS told his dad how mad he was when dad spent $750 on school clothes for sd a couple years ago. I love that SS can just say it all now and I can sit back while SO figures out how to deal with the reality his own son spews.
This is why I keep separate finances
His CS isn't obscene that I know of. $800 /mo for two kids plus health insurance. Insurance was obscene for a while, but BM never took them to the docs, so SO switched to the cheaper plan. She hasn't noticed and it's been over a year.
