These stupid tik tok dances....if you can call them that.

Ugh...ok my 2 kids are not into social media.  Neither has the book of faces or snapchat.  One has the *gram but only to see other pictures, she posts nothing.  Both agree not worth the effort and neither one wants their personal life on display.

SD...ugh another story, snapchat, the book of faces, the *gram, tik tok you name it.  Drives me batty (trust me there isn't far to go)..one morning the kid (she is 14) had 1,234 messages.  That is text messages in a single night..WTF...

The tik tok crap.  SD walks around here flaying her arms around and claims is a dance.  Uh..yea doesn't dancing require the movement of  your feet.  I am so TIRED of seeing SD look like she is having seizure in the name of tik tok.  I mean even moving the arms doesn't have much movement or rythym...just random movements.  And there is no music involved....no music. I can't even fathom how exactly this is dancing...

The alsolute kicker here...SD thinks because she is "good" (and I use the term loosely) at "tik tok dancing"  she is shoo in for high school chearleading.  Mind you,

1. SD has NEVER EVER EVER been chearleading.

2.  SD cannot do any type tumbling.  A cartwheel is hard for her...let alone a back tuck or handspring...(that ain't gonna happen).

3.  SD is adverse to anything and I mean anything..that takes work other than standing there doing a "tik tok" dance.

Pray for me...this summer is going to be a LOOOONNNNGGG SUMMMMERRR.

1. Tik tok is kind of fun. I get why kids like it. And no, their dances don't require movement, but music is involved. I'm guessing SD is just practicing.

2. If she's getting that many messages, she's been added to a group chat full of people she likely doesn't know. We don't allow our kids to participate in those chats. The context of conversations is often inappropriate for kids.

much...but ITS ALL THE TIME....at the dinner table, in a store, at the fire pit....dayum...enough already.  That and she isn't doing her chores, etc.

The moment I realized I was old was when I started seeing Tik Tok dances and thought to myself "that looks ridiculous". I especially can't stand adult "influencers" who have become famous off their Tik Tok dances.

People who are bored shitless, have nothing practical to do with their time and useless bums will waste it on tik tok and claim it’s coronavirus thats causing a mental breakdown and so tik tok alleviates it... mmmm sure...

i have lots of house stuff to do, painting, gardening, indoor maintenance rather than waste it on tik tok

Meh, I watched a couple videos and that did it for me. Social media is pretty tiresome, and IMO, it's not helped the mental health of kids in the slightest. Everyone displaying themselves all the time, trying to get "likes", and trying to be better than everyone else.

It has its place, I suppose, and it's here to stay, but at the same time, kids like SD need some limits set on them in regard to it.

There are millions of girls like your SD. Literally MILLIONS. SD13 isn't too much in to it. Watches it all day though. I see girls doing tik tok dances EVERYWHERE!

I can't lie... I've made a few myself for fun with my SO. The "big head" filter cracks me up. Not sure it's still on there. Kevin hart and YouTuber made one with a dance to a specific song. So I made SO do it with me. We had a good laugh.
