Week 4: And Hanging in There!

Last week went real well until I went to our church's 125th celebration and then I went wild!

Yup, I did wonderfully all week long and was feeling great until Sunday. We had a reception at our church followed by a dinner. I started out the day with my usual breakfast and decaf coffee. Then I caved and ate EVERYTHING. I just kept piling it on and at the end of the day I came home and just had to brush my teeth because they felt nasty.

Monday I got back up on the wagon, did my weigh in and confessed all my sins for Sunday. I lost 9oz and now I am at a total of 20 pounds lost.

I did learn a few thing this past week. I am a big fan of Dunkin Donuts ( a coffee chain). I looked at their menu to see the calories. I would always order a pumpkin coffee with cream and a veggie whit on flatbread. The coffee was 250 calories and the sandwich was 280 calories, so I decided to make some changes. I switched to a coffee with just cream and now it's 60 calories. The sandwich I switched to a wake up wrap and reduced that to 150 calories.

I realized that all the hard work I did during the past week was wasted in 4.5 hours of binging. Did I have a good time…yes. But in hind sight, I was into instant gratification instead of keeping focused on what I truly wanted.

With the upcoming holidays I hope to take that experience to remind me how I feel today.

The Dr. said next week should be a bigger weight loss because of all the water retention I have from the salt plus the work I put into losing weight this week. I hope he's right.

I hate diets and exercising and everything. I have juvenile diabetes and a big sweet tooth. Until I start exercising, nothing will change. I commute so I am limited on time. Maybe I can walk the 30 miles one way to work lol?

Good for you to realize what you did. I always try to fill up on water and I have taken the stairs more lately. It actually makes my back feel better. Keep up the good work!

If you are logical about it you really cannot gain that much weight in a single day. So don't beat yourself up.

Hells to the yeah on the 20 pounds!!! You go lady!!!

20 pounds in 4 weeks is awesome! You're doing great. We all indulge once in a while. Don't feel down about it. You're back on track.

I'm so happy for you and your progress.
