No award will be given

SS is still refusing to go to this awards night.

Donkeykong "tried" to convince SS to go to the awards night (see previous blog entry for details). I say "tried" because I honestly do not know to what extent Donkeykong tried to convince SS that receiving this award was important. DW and I tried to convince him and SS still wouldn't budge.

I told DW that if DW nor Donkeykong can force SS to go to this thing, then I cannot force him either. DW really didn't know what to do here so we've dropped the matter simply stating that we are sourly disappointed.

SS gets his way.

Apparently the reason why SS doesn't want this award is because he doesn't want to go up on stage to receive it. I think that's bullsh*t but - meh - whatever. I don't give a rat's ass at this point. I am just so disgusted with him and his attitude. This morning, I could barely look at him. Normally I would offer him a ride to the bus stop on my way to drop BS and BD at daycare. I didn't offer him a ride. I didn't even say bye to him when I left the house.

I have come to the conclusion that we as StepParents put way too much energy into these Skids that clearly could give a shit. I am guilty of that as well. However, after 13 years living this Brady Bunch Bullshit, I have come to realize that you know what? You are not my kid, I did not give birth to you, I did not create you and therefore your nonsense will not aggravate me, upset me or affect me.
SD13 wants to be a lesbo? Go right ahead. (She isn't really gay, she's a little ho and will grind anything girl or boy)
SS21 wants to be a bum? Go right ahead. As long as you're not living in MY house, I could give a rats ass.
MY BS15 IS my problem and because he is MY problem, I make sure he does what I say. Everything else? Nope, not getting any more grey hairs over someone else's brat that could really give a shit anyway.

meh..I'm on the fence. On one hand...he may be one of those that REALLY has stage fright. I do, so I know how it feels.

On the other hand...at that age...if my mom and dad TOLD me I had to go accept the award, I would do it. How on earth can he "refusing" to do it. He is only 12 or 13.

I could not see telling my parents..."I will not do it, period"

This is an awesome idea, but DW and I have come up with another cunning plan (actually I have to give DW most of the credit here). I'll write about it tomorrow.
