OT Tooth Saga

CLove's picture

Went to the Dentist, as a new patient, and check in was easy, xrays were easy, it was all easy.

Good news - no infection.

Bad news - severe inflammation and locked jaw. He put me on antibiotics for the inflammation. It was all expected and commonplace. October 31 Monday is the soonest appointment after 8 day cycle. LOL.

Good news - I had braces in high school and over the years my straight teeth went crooked until now in my 50's Im looking at straightening processes again. Because I rarely smile in pictures because Im embarrassed of crooked teeth. Because no children of my own to spend on and why not?

New Dentist has an orthodontist he always reccomends and works with. Now that I am on the tooth extraction pathway, I will have to go in for two more bottoms...but it wont be so scary and hard now.

Im off pain medication, to see how the anitbiotics are working. Pain is slowly dissolving and jaw is feeling more relaxed. I can actually eat a meal somewhat. Happy Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to send me good juju Biggrin

But food is food and Im ok with this because of the big picture. I waited so long to extract this thing and take care of business, so anything that lessens pain is good. So to the blender it goes.

You can get very creative with a blender. Apple pie and ice cream, ham and beans, spaghetti, vegetable soup... Just add extra liquid.

Yay! That is good news.  I am glad you are feeling better. I would be eating peanut butter and chocolate Reese's shakes if I had to drink my lunch. Any excuse to go off my diet. Hahaha!

Along with the pneumonia I had a massive outbreak of mouth sores due to the high fever.  It was incredibly painful.  Eating was excrutiating.  I was about 13-14 at the time.

So, mom went blender chef on my food.  A tasty staple was blended Mac & Cheese.  Add milk, blend to desired viscocity and drink with a straw.  One that was also was good was fruit coctail and cottage cheese.   Filling, tasty.  Chilling it in the refrigerator made it soothing to my very painful mouth.

I lost about 15lbs with that bout of pneumonia/fever sores.  I did not eat for a few days until mom did the blender meals.
