VT vs NH...ugggggg

So BM sent us a nice little letter explaining that she was giving us our 30 day notice that she is moving according to the court papers....Another 25 (its actually about 30 but whos counting?) miles further and that it wouldn't change the parenting plan or schedual (wonderful cuz its all how you read it to your own benefit anyway...) But one of her main arguments in court was the amount of time SD spend traveling between parents (so move her further dumbass). We aren't sure if its worth bringing to our lawyer or not. We aren't moving any time soon and if we do we are staying in the same area so our kids can stay in the same school and we like it here and know the community and all that small town stuff. Should we call the lawyer and find out if its worth bringing her to court over? She lives in the city and loves to move. SO now SD8 is switching schools going into 3rd grade which BM promised wouldn't happen but BM has to move every few years..She cant stay in one place for long, she gets bored or whatever but this is the first move since SD started school..worth contacting the lawyer or no? DH wants to call the lawyer. I said it wont hurt but don't think much will come out of it. Keep in mind they have so close to 50/50 its nearly that and the judge was reluctant but finally gave her the privilege of being primary so SD could go to school there but it was close..Not like some of the situations where dad only gets kid every other weekend.

It is common that if a parent moves and increases transportation time they become responsible for all transportation. You might check with your attorney and see if this is enough of a change to require her to do all the driving.

Something else to consider is that VT/NH are both snowy as hell in the winter, and increased time on the roads means increased danger for SD. It's one thing driving her across town in bad weather, but long distances is sometimes impossible. Do you have provisions for inclement weather so SD is not put in harm's way?

I would absolutely contact the lawyer, because BM is making voluntary changes that impact the custody agreement. She doesn't need to move, she just wants to move, so she should incur the repercussions for that, including the more difficult transport of SD. She is a mother, and she can't just choose things without realizing the impact on her child and the child's other family. Don't let her off the hook for the additional complications that she is choosing to create.
