Random Vent--POOOOOOOOORR BMs and their VACATIONS!!!

Auteur's picture

Yeah the Behemoth, Snuffy and the three skids (plus the two adoptees) are all flying off to Florida for the week! Must be nice!!! Yeah they are so deprived and missing daddykins (boo hoo) Yet everyone pities children of divorce nowadays??!! Wow when I was a true single parent and even when I remarried I could NEVER afford to go on holiday like the Behemoth clan does! GG's kids are having the time of their life!!! No need to have good grades, just keep failing everything and still you'll be treated like Kings and Queens!!

How dare you question the poor BM's?! They are on a fixed income of CS. My SD's BM has to feed her poor children chips for dinner every night and ask her mother to fill their lunch account at school just so she can afford iPhones for everybody and a nanny. Life is rough!

WOW
I was a single mom. I always took my son on vacations. Those trips were not funded by CS. I had 10% of each pay check deposited into a vacation account. I worked during the summers. During the holidays I worked nights&weekends at Toys R Us.

Good for you.

I guess you are NOT the type of BM that Auteur is talking about.

My son's dad had 2 CS orders. He and his wife still went on 2 vacations a year.

DS's half sister is the only one who missed out. Her mom never worked. The state took most of the CS that was paid because she was on welfare.

I had a full time job and two side/part time jobs just to make ends meet. I did not rent, I bought a house as soon as I could so all "extra" funds went to house maintenance.

Behemoth and Snuff (who makes twice what I do) just "write the cheque" to the handyman/contractor who does any work on their house (I'd hate to see the inside of their new house; the skids are totally uber destructive). We, on the other hand, have to do all the work ourselves as we are living off my salary for the most part.

The most I did as a true single mom (no dating/boyfriends) was take my kids on day trips to the beach, local museums etc.

Um, if you didn't date/have boyfriends as a single mom, how did you marry #2 when you were already a mom? Or hook up with GG?

As a "true, single mom," I didn't receive CS for my 3 kids, and I funneled small amounts of money away for Christmas and a vacation each year.

I stopped dating (having anything to do with the dating scene) after I separated from 2nd husband. That was it for me. That went from 1991-2002

2002 was when I met GG.

Soooo, 3littlemonkeys, Let's here about YOUR step situation. . .unless it is that your children are someoneELSE'S skids. . .

I understand that some people are not good with money management, but others are RIDICULOUS about it. Your BM and mine are of the latter.
