OT-Read your old blogs
Hey, I will not keep this up long. If you go back and read some old blogs you have it is a little funny reading with all the posts taken out.
No it is not funny that people were blocked that is not at all what I am saying. I went to read an old blog and now it is all chopped up and reads kind of funny.
Sad too because I sometimes refer back to reread some advice but it is now gone.

I wonder why GrannyGoose was booted...all of the comments I read from her always seemed very kind...I don't remember seeing anything from her that could be construed as harassment...
(not to say that all the others did, I just remember having an opinion that GrannyGoose seemed very nice!)

A number of the members
A number of the members missing that were fairly new . Brick, Troll, Sully, Ga-girl, Lashy. Guessing, but some of couple of these may have been multiple identity members. I checked a few others out of curiosity . I can understand some of the provoking multi id members , but I'm at a loss for why the others (such as Echo , who always made me laugh with that da*m cigarette and her affection for bacon, or StepAside, I'll have to always wonder now if SA ever got that giant MIL crockpot made , Sueu2 ect). I'm even going to miss HRNYC. She grew on me once I understand where she was coming from. A true child advocate and a total dead horse beater LOL.

I think the hardest part is just 'poof' gone. I read their advice, learned some things , agreed and disagreed with other things IMO each brought something different to the board in their own unique way.
What, it's been two years since the site's last big boot. Yes, I know some came back, but others did not. And when some do return it's hard to know if it's them in many cases.

They did a big review and clean out of all the blogs and comments flagged as offensive. Banned a lot of people that were recurring issues
Nobody knows. Apparently all
Nobody knows. Apparently all the flags, PMs, etc to the admins over the past six to twelve months were addressed in one fell swoop. Admin claims to have reviewed each case in its entirety and that each person banned was banned for conduct that broke the terms of service or terms of conduct, I'm not sure of the title here.
Admin has also made clear that they looked at each individual situation, and not at all each poster. So posters that have been here for over a decade and crossed the proverbial line once were banned along with posters who joined last week and have done nothing but rabble rouse in each and every post and comment.
There is a post called "Groundhog Day" that you can find in the blogs, and the rest of my info comes from Admins posts which are pinned at the top.

What happens when 100's of
What happens when 100's of years and experiences combined get booted is that you're left with more and more of the petting & you're so right & BM is horrible posts left as real "advice" that's actually not helpful to anybody. It's actually harmful.
It's very sad.

I don't find that funny at all. You are new, Ash, so you may not realize that when a member is banned, ALL of their previous posts are deleted. Years of valuable, insightful advice and counselling gone, and for what?

When I was a member a few
When I was a member a few years ago I had a particularly horrific night, and many many of the lovely posters here were there for me, and gave me some invaluable advice, then the inevitable happened and the nasties came in and turned it into somewhat of a bunfight - 300+ posts - and because some got all 'mean girl' my whole post was removed, which meant that I lost all of the amazing insightful help I was given along with the bathwater so to speak. Really upset me at the time.
I feel this post is
I feel this post is insensitive, a number of those posters handed me my rear end and because of that I found peace. I stopped pining for something that would never be. I have not cried over my situation in a long time and if I needed their strong words it is now with Unikitty visiting. Their tough love saved my sanity.
