Hi all, I've been disengaged from my MIL for several years. I really really tried the first 15 years of marriage, but I had to step back for my sanity because of the emotional abuse and manipulation. In fact, I've been diagnosed with PTSD as a result of her abuse. I believe she is a narcissist - it's always about what she wants; she picks favorites in the family; she is never wrong and never apologizes; speaks poorly of everyone behind their backs. 

I don't even know where to start. I DO KNOW I am very thankful for finding this website and I'm sure my girlfriends will too haha I no longer feel alone where nobody can relate to any of my situations.

So SS5 is visiting for 10 days while he's on Fall break. Last time he was here it was for 2 and a half months over the summer so the 10 days shouldn't seem like a big deal. But this time I have a 7 week old newborn daughter and my husband doesn't have off of work. My mother-in-law is here to take care of SS while DH is at work, but I still just want the house to myself so I can focus on my daughter. She's an absolute delight, not fussy, and is almost sleeping through the night, so it's not that I couldn't handle SS and my baby girl, but I really just want alone time with her.
