SD11 decided she wanted to go home yesterday like a normal eow visit instead of staying the extra night until the holiday! She made up some bs excuse, but I think it had something to do w/the fact that DH took her cell phone away after giving her hell for running up minutes talking to some boy.

This is my first post, I am glad to see I am not alone in the way I feel. I've always wondered what was wrong with me for being so annoyed with my stepkids. I have 3 bio kids 20,17 and my husband and I have a 3 yr old. My husbands kids are 11,10 and 8. They come over every other wknd, the boys 10 & 8 hardly say two words to me, unless it's "what's to eat?" the sd 11, is trying everything in her power to move in with us. She comes over sad, miserable, she complains about her mom her stepdad, she doesn't get what she wants from her mom, and she always asks to go shopping with me.

I have a 25 yr old stepson. He's working full time as a hairdresser. He has lived with us for 2 years has not paid a dime to live here. He had a problem with drugs. I think he still does, my daughters said he looks high all the time. Anyways husband won't confront him or talk to him about the negative comments he says to my children. SS constantly tries to get his dad to talk to his mother. They have been divorced for 17 years. I am sick of it. He constantly spends money on stuff he can't afford. Hubby won't kick him out or made him responsible for his actions. I am sick of it.

For those of you who decided stepfamily life, or at least your particular situation, wasn't working for you...have you had any regrets?

I ask this because I wonder if I am seeing the pluses vs. the minuses. There are many wonderful things about BF and then, there's his situation, BM, 50/50 custody, a SD who is much younger than my kids, financial hardships.

The topic came up this weekend about being a step parent. First a little background: I have 3 step children 18, 12, and 9. I have been married 7 years. I had a bad relationship with my SM so I think I have always over compensated with the SKs. My husband and I have been fortunate to have 2 homes and at each, I made sure the children had their own rooms for whenever they visited. I never wanted them to feel like they were just visiting, I wanted our home to be their second home. I have to deal with 3 BM. Until recently this really had not been too much of a problem.

I have been dating this guy for 2 years he has a 10yld daughter and a 7yld boy the girl hates me and dont even say hi when she sees me unless the dad tells her so.. When we are all together she makes our lives miserable. I have tried to reach out many times by taking her out and making small talks with her.. Her dad says he wants to marry me but he doesnt want to hurt his daughter. I have broken up with him many times bcause of her but I love him and he loves me so we keep getting back together..

Just thought I would update you all ... after a long three day weekend I have my house back!!!! Woke up this morning to the skids screaming and whining so all the kids got put in their rooms for the day. BF made dinner and I decided to eat in the other room because of already being in a bad mood I didn't feel like eating at the troff. Now I am not saying this to be mean but has anyone ever eaten with two kids who have no manners? I'm serious when I say my dog eats quieter than these two.

Im still kind of new to the Step World, but my partner and i live up the road from the Skids and BM so we can be close to there school and see them as often as possible..

but his skids have only found out in the past few months (my choice) his dad and i are serious and the kids and i are getting to know eachother etc, SS 10 is starting to get annoyed that if they arent here then im here instead.

DH has always told them they are welcome to come over whenever they like and its there house as well etc..

I am the BM of 2 beautiful girls. The oldest is 12 & she is the SD to my current husband. She has lived with us for about 9-1\2 years. Her relationship with her SF is horrible. He can be a hard ass, and she can be very disrespectful. I think I may be partial to blame in this. I allowed SF to make and enforce the rules and I was the " 'ol softy". This resulted in SF being painted as "the bad guy". Now things were fine up until just the past year. IDK if its the puberty setting in or the fact that her BIO-Father has just come back into her life full time.

}:) I have 2 children from a previous marriage. He was until Friday been required to pay 500.00 a month child support but now because he is married and has a baby the courts see it fit that he now should only pay 200.00 a month. the greedy loser is like 1900.00 behind as it is. But my question is that he recieves a disability check from the military because he is a punk! lol but can my daughters recieve any payment from that?
