Chef Has An Appt With His Attorney for Downward Mod This Afternoon--Pretty Nervous

Soooo radio silence from the registrar @ SD's (will be 19 next week) community college. Last we heard is that he was going to try and get "permission" from SD for Chef to keep up to date about her college activities.

I'm sure that went over like a lead balloon as the narrative over at the Girhippo's place is that Chef is a deadbeat and "walkaway" dad. Chef actually dropped the rope after the Girhippo (and skids) demanded he go back to the "early days" with him being guilty/fun dad and treating me like a persona non-grata/walking ATM.

Nope.

Both the Gir and Chef's income have gone down (on paper) with the Gir quitting her CPS job and becoming a waitress at the local casino most recently.

This ought to be good. In a fair and just world, the magistrate should grant a constructive emancipation by conduct for at least SD!! Yeah, right.

When was the last time that Chef even saw SD? And it's all because of HER refusal to see him, so I really hope you get a good judge who recognizes that this fits the emancipation guidelines for our state and rules accordingly!!

Thanks everyone! So we met with the attorney. He advised us about what we could go for according to NYS law and possibly to constructive emancipate SD, however he says you have to be careful because it could reverse on us and we would have to pay 50% of college expenses. This 2nd scenario is unlikely in that:

1. the Girhippo already quit her well paying job to artificially reduce her income for "free" college

2. SD has zero desire to go to school; she baaaarrreeeely passed HS with a pity grade and was truant for most of her HS "career" which never seemed to concern the Girhippo.

3. Chef's income is also low as well

In this case he wants us to do most of the leg work (which is not a problem) however our attorney doesn't care for the new magistrate. . .hmmmm.
