Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter - THOSE are holidays.

This is the first year Easter has fallen on a school break because it has been further in April, now it's on the 1st and Spring break here is last week of March. So the following year its April 18th or somwhere near there. DH is fine giving up the second weekend of Spring break. If the situation was reveresed though no way BM would give in without an argument. Hopefully this will occur very rarely.

I just don't understand the whole "I would die if I didn't see my kid on his birthday" thing...

I would not be ok with possibly not seeing my kid ever on his birthday! If he moves I'd go to court and get that re-written to alternate spring break.

Yes I meant for next year. DH is filing to modify the holidays which are split now. We want it to rotate every other year now that she is getting older so we can travel on Holidays, which is the only reason why we are thinking about it this early.

I think that this year is an exception. Usually Spring Break and Easter do not coincide. I would suggest that DH takes his Spring Break as scheduled but gives BM Easter Sunday. Effectively this means that the Skids go back to BM a day earlier than they would otherwise return from Spring Break with dad.
Not sure that a rare anomaly is worth a trip to court.
