Her first "C" grade

Ah, SD11 told us at the dinner table she got a C+ on a math pop quiz.
DP says, "What? A B+?"
SD11, "No, a C+."
She was obviously not happy with herself.
She's an A student and complained that the math class "was too easy."
Apparently she can take a make-up test next week (which apparently is more difficult - good for that teacher!).

So maybe middle school requires more thought and work than just getting on devices all night? And her rants about how much she hates math maybe need to be curtailed (she's actually very good at it)...

So what does DP do? "Oh, that's good."
End of conversation.

I didn't say anything at all, hoping that her personal disappointment does go away.
Her sister is working at grade 5 levels (in grade 4) so there should be some competition.

Ha!
Hopefully SD11 will come around - I think she shocked herself with how easy it was to NOT do well.

The SDs always ask me what my favorite class was, did I like science, do you ever use math? Got 'em on all counts. I work at a science center, while I loved the arts I learned as much about everything as I could so I could understand everything I could, and my job involves math every day - sometimes all day and how do you think I knew how much paint to buy to paint your bedrooms? Geometry is useful...

I think the teacher allows a second test for those who got a C or lower. It's MORE difficult than the pop quiz so good for him.
