Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team
maybe its not the nick names
maybe its not the nick names but the sweet talk that goes along with it.
I can't fathom calling my XW
I can't fathom calling my XW by a nick name other than Landfill Crotch. There is no way I could refer to her in any redeeming way what so ever.
Landfill Crotch?!?! ROFL!!!!!
Landfill Crotch?!?! ROFL!!!!!
Do you call him by an
Do you call him by an "endearment"? Just a thought. If not try doing it for a few months or a year.
yes i do call him by a
yes i do call him by a nickname. in my case these little names are names of endearment. i am not dear to my husband so i only get called by my name. just like everyone else. the mini wives get the sweet talk and i get addressed like the maid or mere provider of pleasure. the latter he cannot get from the sds.
Baby sweetums and honey pie?
Baby sweetums and honey pie? I'd be glad he didn't have one for me.
My DH calls all three of us 'mami', or 'mi amor'. He has gotten better about only using it for me (tbh I hate 'mami', but it's a Latin thing, whatever), and calling them by their names, or individual nicknames for them, however, OSD has the same given name as I do, so there's some confusion no matter what. :?
My SO calls me honey bunny
My SO calls me honey bunny because he likes Pulp Fiction.
I will not call him Pumpkin.
Haha- I too am honey bunny
Haha- I too am honey bunny because of Pulp Fiction. "Keep cool, honey bunny...." We love that movie.
DH calls both me and adult SD
DH calls both me and adult SD "Baby." It's not a big issue for me and really not a nickname I even like for grownups, and not one he uses all the time anyway. But SD and I have fun with it -- "Who do you think he's talking to?" or "YOU answer that one, not me." Or we look at each other and neither of us answers. It was nice to find some shared humor.
