Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Good for you Merrigan and
Good for you Merrigan and continue to shut her @ss down every single time she thinks she can......
Eventually she'll understand that she doesn't run sh!t in your house and No is a complete sentence.
Rock on chica!
Kudos but trust me ... without your spouse this will be futile
My hat is off to you and I so wish that I had worked much harder towards enforcing some standard of behavior. One hard lesson I have learned is that without level setting and agreement from the Bio parent we will rarely be successful.
Good for you!!!!!!!
Good for you!!!!!!!
What is with these dads saying NO, NO, NO only to be YES 30 minutes later.
A couple weeks ago my SD16 stayed with us instead of BM on BMs weekend...so it was just SD16 and DH and I. Usually, my bio kids are there and SDs younger sister....so this was a rare occasion where the only kid besides our toddler was SD16.
Every day she had some outlandish request where DH said NO....a few times he actually said "I said NO, and it's non negotiable" Each time I thought, WOW, and was finally proud of him. But EVERY SINGLE time the NO turned into a YES on about the 5th time she asked. I literally wanted to BARF and I was so mad at DH.
He even agreed to take her to and from a PARTY ON A SCHOOL NIGHT!!!!!!!! That was after about 6 No's.
While I'm at it.....let me mention that he legit served her breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 3 days in a row. Like she sat down and proclaimed what she wanted to eat and then he prepared it and brought it to her. Gross, sickening and I wanted to pack my bags and never return.
