OT - Thirsty Thursday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Whose ready to get their drink on? The weekend is almost here, July 4th is next week, and I'm THIRSTY!!!

How about a nice pitcher of Moscato Strawberry Lemonade?

Moscato Strawberry Lemonade

  • 1 bottle Pink Moscato
  • 6 cups lemonade
  • 1/4 cup strawberry vodka
  • frozen strawberry slices
  • fresh lemon slices

Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher. Fill a glass with ice cubs, pour lemonade over the top (get some fruit in there!) and enjoy!

TIP: Refrigerate the moscato and lemonade the day before you make this. Put the vodka in the freezer or refrigerator. NO, it will NOT freeze. It will just get veeeery cold.

ETA: If moscato is too sweet for you, substitute prosecco.

Aniki~you made my mouth water with this wonderful drink. I will definitely try it this summer and thank you for the recommendation. It sounds so refreshing and hope you enjoy it!

My pleasure, Siempre! Strawberry is one of my favorite things.

I'm craving a mojito right now.

Fresh mint and limes

White rum

Club soda

And a little white sugar.

Mmmmmm! Tastes like summer!

Blueberry mojitos are my favorite mojito! Freshly picked blueberries and plenty of rum to make me forget all of the mosquito bites I got while picking!!! LOL

Thanks Aniki! That sound really good and I'll probably serve it to friends over the summer. I've started a little tradition where each time, I serve them a new drink I've never tried before.

AND/OR

A tall super cold margarita, on the rocks, made with fresh squeezed lime of course!

*sigh*

I'm still breastfeeding, so....no such luck!

My little one eats everything with me! Even tortilla chips and pico de gallo!

Feeding kids "different" sets up for picky eating habits...

I've just got cold green tea with mint and lime. I think it could stand a little vodka in it.

Nutritionist has me on "healthy gatorade"  What is that you ask?  20-24 ounces of water, ACV and stevia or some other flavouring to drown out the taste of the ACV.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Um.... EW! I'd rather do that ACV as a shooter and chase it with some LaCroix or Klarbrunn!

Mmmmm.

And blueberry mojito? Yum!

Now I’m getting thirsty and want to have a drink once I put the kids to bed. I only have Larceny, and Elijah Craig Bourbon in the house. I do have seltzer and a lot of citrus.

I'm late to the party but I made this last Independence Day and it was a hit. I even made some for the little ones; just left out the brandy and used white grape juice instead of wine.

White Sangria with Peaches & Plums

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup water

1 cup sliced peaches, skins left on

1 cup sliced plums, skins left on

1 cup cherries, stemmed and pitted

1/2 cup peach brandy

1 (750-ml) bottle dry Riesling, chilled

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water, and heat just until the sugar is dissolved to make a simple sugar syrup. Place the peaches, plums, and cherries in a large pitcher and pour the sugar syrup over top.
Add the peach brandy and stir. Add the cold Riesling and chill until ready to serve, ideally overnight. When ready to serve, fill the rest of the pitcher with ice.
Serve over ice, being sure to serve some of the stone fruit in each glass.

Sounds delicious!! Do you ever freeze the fruit so it keeps drinks colder longer?
