Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

If you have an iPhone there
If you have an iPhone there is a program SMS message saver. It's about $30 but worth it.
I've heard phone companies
I've heard phone companies carry a feature where you can request them to send a print out of text messages...its for a charge, but I'd imagine so worth the hassle.
Thank you ladies. I will try
Thank you ladies. I will try and give them a call tomorrow. He doesn't have an iphone. That would have been pretty useful.

In your contacts list, if you create a contact that is your home email address, you should be able to forward your tests to your email. Works for me. Just go into the text message, then edit, then forward...
Hope that helps. Maybe it's what you need.

I tried forwarding them to my email but the email doesn't show the number that it came from. Would these hold up in court not showing that it came from her number?
That's what I am not so sure
That's what I am not so sure about. Backing those up with your phone records may show what you need. Sorry to not have the answer....
I got the idea from someone
I got the idea from someone here and when SO's ex wanted my # I got a google voice account she's the only one with that # all texts and VM are transcribed and sent to my email, as well as forwarded to my phone. I don't ever have to worry about losing her crazy texts (was awful fun when SO ran out of minutes on his phone and was using my GV account I got tons of her crazy rantings all in a little file)
If you can hook your phone up
If you can hook your phone up to a computer you can copy and paste them into a word file.
