Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

I am at work. 45degrees and overcast in Houston. If I was still in DE I would be snowed in I am sure.
Enjoy your snow day.

In Houston here also. It is supposed to get really cold in the next few days. Don't like it!!
Snowing like crazy but no
Snowing like crazy but no school closures or blocked roads (yet). We got back to back blizzards over New Years so I guess if we only get 4-5 inches, that's a big improvement!!

Gotta love the south, it isn't even snowing yet and they cancelled school today "Just in Case". Ugh. They probably won't go to school until Friday or even Monday if it doesn't warm up.
It's snowing here now, but
It's snowing here now, but not likely to close the schools just yet. We live where snow is expected and a good thing. I know my son wants a school snow day, but around here that just means they go skiing. Can't get to school, but sure can get to the slopes! LOL!
We dealt with all of that
We dealt with all of that mess last week here in California. The first day back from Winter Break was a "snow day" for SS13. I went to work, rather than be stuck inside with him all day.
Snow won't be here on the

We are expecting more tonight
We are expecting more tonight so i don't know what will happen. I know I NEED my kids to go to school LOL
Home...all day...listening to
Home...all day...listening to that "special" little text chime DH has for SD24. Apparently, every little thing her spawn(s) do outside must be recorded and sent to grampa. My kids are at work (daughter and her husband both have "essential" jobs) and they slipped and slid the entire way there. Thank GOD SD24 will never have to get off of her fat a$$ and risk her life for something as trivial as employment!

It's funny - there's been snow on the ground since before dawn, and it hasn't let up. My mom (an hour-ish north) hasn't gotten a single flake yet.
I didn't go to work today, won't tomorrow, (it got officially called around noon) and will likely have a delay on Weds.
No skids for me though; just the four-legged kids who aren't much liking the snow.
No school today, tomorrow,
No school today, tomorrow, and we're home with 8 kids. BM was sure to get her 4 here before everyone got snowed in this morning.
