Sounds that 14 will be a great year for Ditz. Congrats on the MBA and the retirement. Let us know when and where the party will be and we can try to meet for some umbrella drinks to celebrate.

Eat better. I have always been a healthy eater. But with BS beign older and his activities, owning a home, skid drama, I just dont have the time or energy to plan ahead for meals and such. This is a big one for me to work on.

Try to keep my mouth shut. This is another big one. I am the type of person that tells it like it is. Always has to let a person know that I know that they wronged me, or whatever. I am going to try a different approach this year. Well I wont compromise what I believe in or be silenced I do think I could relax some. I think silence can be just as effective sometimes as speaking out.

Work on my new marriage Smile It's a learning process for me. This whole thing is new. I think I went into my marriage gaurded due to skid drama. I want it to work more then anything and I know DH does. We have lots of love.

Disengaged (again) from the skids. Mostly the drama. Stop feeling like I have to be in the middle of stuff or "in the know". Not be mean, but be cordial. Smile and nod, smile and nod Smile

Prior years it was to work on being a better mother to my BS- tune in more to his needs and SLOW DOWN. Also to spend more time with my friends and family. Both of those have been very important to me.

This year has been very tough for us. We were also very blessed and in one huge way, we will be going into the new year without any debt. My goals for 2014:

1. Remain debt free. Continue making good financial decisions and saving
2. Better routines all around- planning ahead better, organizing better to make life easier
3. Focusing more on the blessings than the things beyond my control. Accepting the things that cannot be changed.
4. Focusing on being a good step mom again- this year I have stepped back a lot- I don't plan to become "mommy" or take charge, but I would like to continue to focus relationships with skids and just be myself and let dad do the parenting part. These kids live in my home, it would be nice to be happier about it by focusing on the good things
5. Putting pictures in the damn albums. Digital has made me lazy this way!

1. Be debt free except for our mortgage. July 2014 should see that goal completed.
2. Get in shape and be able to see my feet without leaning forward. (50lbs)
3. Maintain an A1c of less than 5.0.
4. Renew my vows on our 20th anniversary in July. Both we and my SIL eloped and FIL is not in good health. DW wants him to walk her down the
isle. Neither MIL or FIL were at our wedding so this is a big deal to my bride.
5. Double our non thrift investment portfolio. A stretch but doable with a combination of investment savings and portfolio growth.
6. Celebrate my 50th birthday. This one is a given unless something completely unfortunate and unexpected happens in the next 60 days.
7. Hug my amazing bride and demonstate every day of the new year how much I love and appreciate her.
8. Take and pass the damned PMP exam. I have scheduled the damned thing 3 different times over the years and keep getting transferred or
promoted in to a new job that takes priority away from the test. Not bad reasons to miss the test but still .......
