Ok so BM(Spawn of Satan) calls DH to tell him that she had a meeting with SS6's teacher and that "she" thinks SS is add or adhd because he is really fidgety, can't keep his hands to himself, and when they had a fire drill (they are supposed to be silent during the whole thing) he raised his hand and since she thought he might have to go to the bathroom she went to see what he needed and he told her "I don't like raccoons". Keep in mind SS is ONLY 6, has no structure anywhere but here outside of school, and that it is the end of the school year and the teacher is JUST NOW saying that! So when Spawn called DH she was telling him that she made a doctor appointment for SS for tomorrow at 4 and wants him to meet her at the Doctor (FIRST appointment in 1.5 years that he has been told about and he is supposed to pay part of the medical). DH told her that he would call her back after he talked to me about all of it (haha bet she hated that answer). So here we are...he tells me and I tell him that as a CMA I have not seen ANY signs of either of these conditions when he is with us and I find it kinda funny that the teacher would just now say that after the whole school year has past except for like 3 weeks of it. When SS is with us he doesn't want to do anything but watch tv, play BY HIMSELF, or just lay around doing nothing at all. So I tell DH if he wants to go then he should but if they put him on medication I would suggest letting Spawn keep him so if he has a reaction to the medication she will have him and be able to do whatever with him since we have 2 other kids, DH works nights and therefore I can not devote all my attention to SS and would not know if he was having a reaction since he doesn't act the way they said here. (this weekend would be our weekend but originally is her weekend so it would just flip our original weekends back after she had to have him on our weekend 3 weeks ago) Then DH said that was a very good and valid point and that was what he would do IF he is put on medication(s). Now I then pointed out that Spawn works at said Doctor office and will have ALL day to talk to the Doctor/nurses and get a plan in place and that since he never has a say in medical attention any other time (she doesn't tell him when SS has appointments unless she wants money right then) I didn't really know why he would have to go other than she wanted him to be there to pick up SS. Dh then said you know your right that doesn't make sense. I then said but I would just go anyway so she can't bad mouth you like she does all the time and she can't say I wouldn't let you go since you told her you had to talk to me about it first and I find it funny that SHE WOULDN'T see signs of these conditions in her son until a teacher points it out when she works at a Doctor office. Dh laughed and said "well you know how she is." Dirol Smile Biggrin I THEN COULDN'T STOP THE WORD VOMIT COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH.... "yep she is like a slinky...dull and boring, but you WOULD LOVE to push them down the stairs for a good laugh." :jawdrop: :O DID I REALLY JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD....oh S*** he is going to say something I just know it. I closed my eyes and looked away just in time to hear...the biggest laugh I have heard in awhile and him saying "that was a really good one wait til I tell the guys at work about that they are going to LOVE YOU!

I have never met a doctor who would give a kid medication without doing screening first. So I would be shocked if the doctor did and would def. get a second option.

I haven't either. BM works for the doctor's office and I know that on a few occasions she has been given antibiotics just from telling the doctor what symptoms someone (not even her kid) said they were having without the doctor even seeing the person. With SS being on her insurance DH can't make any medical decisions without BM (plus she has full custody) and she will not get a second opinion just because she believes what she hears. SS does show some signs of ADD/ADHD but not enough to say that is what he is. Tragic things have happened to him in the past 3 years which also would cause the symptoms he shows (ie divorce of his parents, aunt tried to kill herself by jumping off a bridge into an interstate, and his mother doesn't show him attention unless it is to buy something since she has been with her new guy) and the kid is extremely book smart and has no problems learning according to his teacher. what gets me is, why would the teacher who has given great reports all year on him all of a sudden say she thinks that just off the 3 situations in the past week or so. Maybe it is because he knows he is coming to his dad's house and the last time he was here he told all of us (even his brother and sister who are both under 2) that he doesn't love us and doesn't want to be here because he can't play video games(which we don't have and he only has at his BM's) and can't stay up all night long playing with his toys because we have bed times here. I would love for someone to comment that actually can tell me how they think this qualifies as "I think he is add/adhd" material if it only has happened in the last 2 weeks and hasn't happened all school year until now and it didn't happen last year at all...maybe the kid is just bored!

The doc should give a packet that the school system fills out s well as DH and BM.

My dd wasn't diagnosed until 4th grade AFTER she was put into resource classes in the 2nd grade. Not one teacher mentioned ADD, until I held them to the fire insisting for answers.

She has no real signs of ADD. Except no consentration.

ok...SS is 6 and the only signs I have seen in him are not consistently happening but include: not listening when told to do something or makes careless mistakes sometimes, squirmy and constantly moving unless he is doing what he wants to do (watching tv) then he can sit still for hours and not move or say a word, says the wrong thing at the wrong time and last sign I see in him is that he sometimes will interrupt me and DH when we are talking (but all kids do that and he doesn't do it to the point that it is excessive) Since you DD has been diagnosed does this sound like that would be anything or just him being a kid that has been dealing with several tragedies in the last 3 years? he doesn't do any of the other "signs" at all and has never had a problem with learning anything.

I would contact the teacher and get her thoughts from HER, not through, BM. Its been our experience that McCrazy tells us her "interpretation" of what the school said, which is often what she is telling them and assuming they agree, since, well, she is well the all-knowing, MOTY! In fact, most times McCrazy calls the school, spews a bunch of shit, and then tells dh the school called her and told her all that stuff. Major projection. Its happened so often that as soon as the prinicpal gets off the phone with her, she calls dh and gives him the real story, which is more often than not, at odds with the verbal ramblings of McCrazy.

I would do that but BM doesnt care about her kid. It is very obvious since her parents raise him and he hasn't had any problems until this year with the whole ADD/ADHD thing. If BM was ever with her kid she would have been able to see the signs I have seen in him and then MAYBE had him checked earlier. She loves taking the kid to the doctor for stupid stuff anyway. Needless to say SS6 got put on medication (which I knew would happen) and BM DECIDED to lie her ass off to get free samples from her doctor to ONLY NOT GIVE THEM UNTIL AFTER HE GETS OUT OF SCHOOL so 3 weeks after being told to take this medication EVERYDAY she isn't going to give it to him while he is in school(which is where the problem was pointed out). SHE MAKES ME WANT TO PUSH HER DOWN A LONG FLIGHT OF STAIRS!!!
