Just wanted to update the ladies who posted on my blog about my DS 7 months not sleeping. I wanted to first say a big thankyou to everyone who offered words of advice, methods to try and comfort. I especially wanted to say thankyou to echo for her advice. I was really down on myself yesterday and felt like the worst mum and her words made me feel like there was light at the end of this sleepless tunnel and that I had support here if I needed it she also felt like a friend last night an thats what i needed most. After posting about my issue on a different forum and being told I was harming my child and being barbaric for letting him cry instead of comforting him all the time I really had nowhere else to turn and steptalk once again came through for me.

So last night I decided to try controlled crying with him. I put him down as usual and he slept for Approx 3 hours. When he woke up I went in gave him his pacifier and left. This took maybe 40 mins of me leaving and going back to give him his pacifier until he eventually settled himself, this was a major breakthrough as ge has never settled himself before. He then woke up at 1am, I fed him and put him back down. It took another 40 mins of controlled crying, he settled and woke up at 7 this morning!! Smile I feel like a new woman after 7 months of being woken up to 8 times a night!! Will keep you updated on how we go.

No I haven't seen that. Can I get it on amazon? Yeah DS likes the noise of the washing machine. Apparently it's a similar noise to what they hear in the womb.

I use a sound machine in my boys' room and it still works, they just turned 1.

That is great! My BS was up every 3-4 hours until he was 1. I made a Dr's apt for him and when the Dr asked what was wrong I broke down sobbing saying I haven't slept for a full night in over a year! He laughed a little (the understanding chuckle)and asked why I had not done controlled crying it out. He explained to me how, very much like you described and within a few days we were down to only waking up once a night and within a week he was sleeping thru the night.

Good luck!! I know you can do this and you are a great mom for caring!
