Hex bought me a Christmas gift...

Toastergirl's picture

We have my 8yr old SD this weekend. Whilst decorating the Christmas tree, she informs me that she went Christmas shopping with her mom, and picked out two gifts for me. Her mom purchased them. No gifts for DH however. "My mom hates my dad." Good to know I'm not on hex's "hate list" this year.

Now I will have to return the favor. I will take SD shopping to pick out presents for her dad AND mom. A small part of me doesn't want to spend my money on crazy hex, BUT she was nice enough to buy something for me. I need to suck it up and put my feelings aside.

And hey, it's from SD at the end of the day, and she gets to see her mom and stepmom happy. I guess that's what counts?

I enjoyed the above comments.

Truthfully I think it's very nice of you to buy for SD-8 to gift to her BM/SD. Years ago, I did the mad dash through unused, lovely gifts and I rehomed some bath stuff one year, a lotion set the next year. Re-gifting saved me money and these items were just gathering dust in my linen closet.

Even if BM never gifts you anything, you are modeling correct behavior, social skills etc. Good for you.
