Dear Valued Users,

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.

This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.

We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.

We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.

Saw Something Interesting

at the bank on Friday...a young couple with a small child in tow asking to open up SEPARATE ACCOUNTS/FINANCES with one joint account for household bills. The man was asking for this and the woman was nodding approval. Perhaps there was a BM1 lurking in the background; sheer speculation, but I thought how wise they were to be doing it this way!

We have separate individual

We have separate individual accounts and one joint for bills (actually we have two joint accounts but one doesn't have much in it - long story.)

Personally, I'm happy to use my personal money for joint stuff (depending on what it is), I just like to keep it separate just in case.
