Nothing Changes--Skid Wanton Destructiveness Continues
This is the 4th cell phone SD (stb 18) has ruined within the year. Probably lots more electronic devices have bit the dust (ipad, kindle--no wait, SD doesn't read) I met this phenomenon early on when SD, at the ripe old age of 6 1/2, slammed the shower door (safety glass thank god) repeatedly so hard that it fell off! She was far more destructive than her brothers--except for when YSS purposely shit all over my house and rubbed it into the furniture.
I will say that Chef is also like a "bull in a china shop" and she's the spitten image so she comes by in naturally. Also the Girhippo was infamous for doing the "Nestea Flop" into chairs instead of properly sitting down on furniture. When they were coming to secret spy missions for the BM, errrr I mean "visitation," I learned quick not to have nice things around them for it would surely end up ruined.
I don't know; my sister and I were always taught to carefully handle things, not slam door, not make a lot of noise, etc. Guess that's old fashioned now or possibly a "microaggression" :barf:
I guess it's too late for Cotillion lessons. . .

"Nestea Flop" LMAO SS and
"Nestea Flop" LMAO
SS and SD do this to the point they smashed in the drywall behind the couch even though I would move the couch 6 inches or more from the wall 3 times a day!
......and DH wonders why I now insist on chair rail in all the rooms.....
I should have said "Nestea
I should have said "Nestea Plunge" for all the under 42 set out there. That way they can YouTube it.
I do not understand how
I do not understand how people break their phones all the time. I'll be honest and admit that I drop my iphone all too often - on tile and concrete even - but have never gotten even a chip. And no I do not have a protective case.
Mine has has bathtub drops &
Mine has has bathtub drops & 1 toilet drop. I dropped mine off a balcony once & it survived, so I too don't understand it.
I have dropped mine a few
I have dropped mine a few times.. I do have a thin bumper type case made of silicone. the only damage I have had was when I dropped it face down on a tile floor and the tempered glass screen protector shattered (but the actual phone screen was fine).
My SD's were not good at caring for things. I remember my OSD got a new Iphone and promptly dumped it in the toilet the first week by trying to keep it in her bra.
The only good thing I can say is neither mommy or daddy bought the girls new phones when the messed up old ones.. they were forced to use cracked screens etc...
DH is like this. I had to
DH is like this. I had to tell him he was destroying my awesome couch with his "flopping!" He's stopped so that's good.
But he and SD10 are bad about being generally careful; tossing things that are breakable, yanking on doors if they don't immediate open, shoving things closed without checking to see why. I'm all over them in a second but it's just aggravating because it breaks things.
SO is the same way, always
SO is the same way, always giving stuff away, breaking stuff.... loosing it,
Aergia is the same way, can't blame the kid, she sees her father doing it....
one of the reasons I prefer living on my own lol...
Let her pay for the new cell
Let her pay for the new cell - she is old enough to at least feel that consequence. Maybe her carelessness, where her cell is involved anyway, will subside. Once they have to start paying for stuff they break, they tend to be more mindful in the future.
All of my skids have the "Nestea Flops" and general destructiveness/carelessness lol! So far in just 4 years, we have already went through 2 couches, 2 recliners, replaced flooring in the family room, replaced 2 end tables, and a coffee table - not to mention countless dishes, appliances, and gadgets - you name it! I told Dh that we will not be buying any more furniture, carpet, etc., until the kids move out. They respect nothing, they flop on all furniture, slam doors, put gadgets in the floor to step on, put their feet on desks and tables. Yes, I am medicated for their safety. }:)
At stb 18, she can replace her own cell due to her carelessness.
Never! The Girhippo will
Never! The Girhippo will rush to the rescue!
Girhippo: Shielding her offspring from the consequences of their actions since 1994.
Yep, I've told DH the next
Yep, I've told DH the next thing that breaks due to SDs YOU pay for.
This includes pest removal (in case SD12 attracts creatures due to the state of her room or destroys her carpet, etc.) and it may include some sewer line issues if SD12 ignored the very clearly stated mandate to NOT flush feminine supplies because X, Y and Z will happen (and now is happening).
See DH, it goes from lying about / ignoring broken dishware, breaking towel bars and kitchen drawers to MAJOR issues...all because, well, no ramifications, no consequences, no holding them responsible for their actions.
I'm really hoping the plumber shows up on Saturday when SDs are there because they are going to see any problems up close and personal.
