How is it possible to...

... score a 36 on your Geometry midterm and be on the honor roll at the same time??

It makes me shudder to think how the educational system has been dumbed down to this level!!

Yep Dominatrix SD17, got on the honor roll after scoring a 36 on her Geometry midterm and getting a score of 65, which here in New York indicates just barely passing, IOW a pity grade.

On the bright side she did score an 87 in Gym due to her "athleticism"

Sounds exactly like all 3 of my skids. And the Gir is a supervisor at Child Protective. :barf:

I'm Canadian and have to say I'm not surprised in the least.

This is the reason that Trump is a front runner for the Republican party. People are so stupid that they can not even think for themselves.

Sorry.

I was talking about this the other day with someone I work with. SS13, along with this lady's grandkid of the same age, cannot do basic math. He barely knows addition, doesn't know his subtractions at all. As a result he hasn't got half a clue with his multiplication tables and just forget division.

How do the schools pass him through each year? He cannot do the most basic of math. Forget that, he can't even tell the time unless it's a digital clock! And this seems to be the standard now for a lot of kids. It's terrifying.

My SD12 had to do addition and subtraction using her fingers. She also had to use a multiplication chart for the most basic problems. When she moved back with BM, they put her in Advanced Math! I am not sure how that works. It doesn't matter as she has failed all of her core classes the past two quarters. When DH called the school to talk about her academic probation, he was told that she might pass. It was up to the principal! How does that even work?

NYS is a joke. In our school district, there is a policy against holding kids back, regardless of whether they're ready. SS17 failed all of his core classes every year from 6th grade on. The answer? Four weeks of summer school. Quick review of a year's worth of material, quick exam, done. SS always, ALWAYS got exactly a 65 on every. Single. Exam. Why? So they could push him through. This is our future, folks. People who are perfectly fine accepting mediocrity at best. Hey, why do the work at all when you can do the quick summer course and be guaranteed to pass?

Exactly what all 3 skids have done for the last ten years. I can't imagine how a few early summer weeks of snacks and socializing makes up for the entire school year. They fail, skip classes, are constantly late, never do their assignments either in or out of class, are given umpteen dozen chances to make the work up, which they never do, then go to summer school every.single.year without fail and miraculously pass.

Excellent parenting, Girhippo!
