We close on our new house next mon.....ahhhhhh nervous!!

So we found the perfect house and we're closing on it next monday. It's an old victorian that needs tons of work, was in foreclosure and is still is absolutely beautiful, and has tons of character.. I'm so excited yet nervous at the same time. This is bid, it's huge, its bigger than a car..

Ok here's what I'm really nervous about. We are getting a loan from FDH's grandpa and we will get a home equity loan and pay him back in full. Grandpa has no problem with this and is excited to help, because we will have a house were both skids can have their own room. They are currently sharing and ones a boy11 and the other girl 13. This will also increase our chances of getting custody once it becomes winter and BM still has no gas=no heat in her house. FDH's mom and sister will have a fit if/when they find out grandpa gave him a loan because they feel grandpa can only help them in time of need. FDH has never before asked for help from grandpa and currently lives near himm to help do his lawn, make sure bills are paid on time ect. FDH says when his family finds out about this they probably will never talk to him again. So that makes me nervous I don't enjoy pissing people off.

Also I don't want to hear crap from BM and SD who anytime we get anything for ourselves and it doesn't matter what, they have to make comments about well you guys have so much money ect ect ect why can't you pay for this or that. This will just be one more thing for Bm to make FDH out to be a deadbeat dad about, that he can get a house but can't pay for (insert whatever she feels like saying this week here).

But I am really excited!!!!

Good news! I'm happy for you and your SO! But don't worry about BM this is your time, your excitement! Ok?! really, it's the "new beginning". Dont worry about custody because you don;t know if that is going to happen and you WILL be very disappointed if it does not and you have two empty rooms in the house the majortiy of the time. Think first about you and you SO, then if everything else falls into place start adding those things to the wish list...otherwise you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Lol thanx.. I am so excited.. I'm not to worried. The house will be completly in my name.. hahaha and there's nothing she can do about that. and lately I've told FDH don't mess with me I'll kick you out muhahaha }:)

When all's said and done I will make my profile pic a pic of the house it really is pretty. Smile

Aw, hearing that your SO does those things for his grandpa warms my soul. So many people aren't nice to their elderly. It's nice to hear that others still treat them well. That's very upstanding of him.

Why would you guys tell anyone where you got the money? If you are old enough to be in a serious home buying relationship, you are of the age where nobody needs to know what's up with your finances. That's between you, Hubby, and Grandpa. Nobody else's business.

Aww thanku GNJ and I know its noone's business. I also know his mom/sister/BM make mounds out of anthills. Oh well their pproblem, not ours.

And its funny helping grandpa sometimes.. The things he says would make a truck driver blush.. Lol

He's sometimes honestly like taking care of a teenager/5 year old all in one.
FDH took him shopping the other day. He bought kool-aid, rice crispy treats, ice cream, and 10 swanson dinners. 2hrs later after looking at everything in the store twice they were done.

And this one will make you laugh.. It still makes me laugh everytime I think about it.. So like 3 years ago I think-when hurricaine ike was in texas, FDH was down there helping evacuate nursing homes and hospitals (he's a paramedic) Well on labor day there's a knock at our back door- its grandpa. I open it and he comes in and says he just walked home from the police station. I'm like why?? Cuz i got arrested for having a loud muffler. I told gpa they don't arrest you for that, what happened? He started swearing about the cop. So I drive to the police station to find out what happened. They finally decide to tell me. He got pulled over for the loud muffler. He got arrested for:
1) Having no valid insurance
2) Driving on a revoked drivers license
3) Having a fake drivers license.

The man was 80 at the time!! We found out his drivers license was revoked in 1968 and he got a license in iindana when they didn't ask questions about licenses in other states.

So I get back home and explain ALL this to him after asking to see the paperwork he was given. I then explain he's out on bail and does he understand the what he signed says he cannot leave illinois (he goes to indiana everyday to see his girlfriend) his response: not even by bus? I wanted to say no, but I did see a magic carpet clause. Lol
Thank god courts over with that now.. That was tons of fun too.. And he's off probation but he still claims even 3 years later that the cop stole his bus card.. He makes me laugh cuz we found the bus card, its just something to be mad at the cop about. Smile
