No Skids for Thanksgiving weekend!

Thefatherismyfamily's picture

Over the last five years we have had skids for Thanksgiving three times. This is the second time we don't have Skids. It's so relaxing. No kid drama, no breaking things, no fighting, no whining, no needing dad to do everything for them, no complaining about our food, no vying for attention, no smirks, no bad attitude, no getting into DDs stuff,  no name calling.  We are cooking all the good stuff for ourselves and DD this year! Thursdays are BM's custody days. She tried to palm her kids off on us again this year. "Do you happen to have TG plans that include the kids? I'll drop them off." Loser, she  can't even make her own kids a meal. Thankfully DH said no thanks we already have plans. Five whole days of no skids! So much to be thankful for.

This is the first year in 10 years I am free from lousy soon to be ex DH and his f*king mini wife. I will be alone today because of covid precautions. Covid has prevented me from visiting family but I will take it anyday over the heartache I endured for years. He will be with BM and the snotty B daughter. Poor BM as she watches those two in a thanksgiving tango. Enjoy, she may feel like she won him back, but she didnt. The SD won him back and I won the f*king lottery!!!

Enjoy your days without the skids.

When I first met DH, he had skids every Thanksgiving, because according to him BM "doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving" even though their CO had them alternating. Well, BM did "celebrate" Thanksgiving, just not with skids. She would use it as a long weekend to go away with her DH.

When DH met me, this became an issue because of course, I wanted to spend some Thanksgivings with my family. The first year that we went to see my family, DH's family complained that they didn't see skids, even though they were only ever supposed to see skids every other Thanksgiving.

This year was our skid-free year, but we were unable to travel to see my family due to covid and our new baby. Both MIL and BIL wanted us to get together with them and bring skids, but I told DH I wanted us to just have a quiet dinner by ourselves and he agreed. It was wonderful.
