OT: Something yummy to make for "treat day" at work?

SteppingUp's picture

We have a treat day at work on Fridays, where two people on our floor bring something to share with everyone. The last time it was my turn, I made chili cheese dip w/ tortilla chips. It was a huge hit - everyone loved it. I want to do something different this time but can't decide. Also I don't want to spend more than about $15 on it. The other girl bringing treats that day is bringing something sweet, so I'd rather stay with something salty-ish!

Suggestions on something I could make/bring that will have enough servings for about 30-40 people?

No one said it had to be healthy! Smile If you think of it go ahead and share the recipe for buffalo chicken dip -- I'd definitely consider it!

Taco Dip. You can probably find a recipe online. Otherwise, I will try the best to give you mine.

Two things of Philidelphia Cream cheese (the brick looking kind I don't know how many ounces)
8-12oz. or sour cream
Two tomatoes
lettuce
1 lb.. hamburger
1 package taco seasoning
two large bags of tortilla chips (there's the salty.)
Using a mixer to blend the cream cheese and sour cream in a large bowl. it should be the consistency should be a little thicker than frosting. add half of package of taco seasoning and blend again.
put into a large baking pan or casserole dish and spread even.
cook hamburger then drain and add taco seasoning.
put hamburger on top of the creamcheese/sour cream in what ever dish you have.
Then top with diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce.
it's a hit at every gathering and family function I have ever brought it too.

I would do Frito Pie!! Everyone loves it. Put Fritos down in a bowl, put some chili on top, add shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions. It's really yummy!

I've made those...very yummy! I also put M&Ms on top when they're still warm to dress them up (color according to the occasion). The M&Ms melt just a little so they stick.

I went the super easy route and made taco dip (equal parts sour cream and cream cheese mixed with a packet of taco seasoning), with tortilla chips. It's only 9:25 and it's almost gone! Smile

That's look great that people would love to share their educational matters and experience on internet, this would be good for readers who must face again this issues in their projects.
