Little upset with ss's

purpledaisies's picture

I have been putting my Xmas stuff away and found one of my Disney glass balls broke. I hung them from a shelf. I noticed one was missing. I went looking for it and found it sitting on the shelf. Now the thing is if it fell it would have been on the floor not higher then I originally put it. No one said anything to me. SOMEONE knows what happen as that person had to have put it on the shelf. I asked my son he had no idea. I asked dh he had no idea.

Now I am upset it's broke but more mad that no one told me and now skids are at their mom's. Dh said he will question them when they come back. Idk I just thought we were beyond that stupid stuff. Grrr

NOPE. Boys break/ruin stuff. I bought a chocolate brown sofa and loveseat because the boys ruined my light tan set I had when DH and I got married. It's probably grossly stained. You can't see it still looks brand new LOL. I clean it about once a week with the carpet cleaner and I shudder when I see how black the water is....

I feel ya on that FL!! My SD wanted a desk for her room, and we didn't have the cash at the time, so we told her we'd look on Craigslist and at garage sales when we had a little extra $$. She suggested that I move my hope chest into her room so she could use that. My initial reaction was hell.no. DH took me aside and asked again, saying he would make sure the wood was covered with a thick blanket, and that he would drill it into her head that the chest is MINE, and the first time he saw a drink, food, wrappers, or anything else other than her laptop on it, she'd go back to working on her bed.

It lasted less than a week before I walked into her eating a bowl of cereal on top of it, and an old, swollen paper soda cup sweating into the blanket. I got DH, showed him what she was doing, and we took the chest back to our room that minute. Upon removing the blanket, I was horrified to find that the brat had carved her fucking name into the top of the chest. She was SIXTEEN at the time, so she couldn't even use being a dumb kid as an excuse. It was done just to hurt me. Period. She knew that the chest was given to me for my sixteenth birthday by my deceased mother, and that it had been passed down over four generations.

Totally my fault for believing, even for a moment, that she could be trusted with something so special to me. I was so beyond livid and crushed by what she'd done that I couldn't bring myself to look at her for quite some time. A few months later it was brought up in passing, and she admitted that she did it. (In the beginning she'd lied, and said she "had NO idea how it happened!!") She said she did it because she had thought I was going to get her a hope chest for her sixteenth birthday, and I "failed" to do so, and she was very "hurt" that I didn't share my family's tradition with her, and she knew that my BD's would get one when they got older. Interestingly enough though, I HAD put a chest on order for her with a friend that does woodworking, and planned to give it to her her seventeenth birthday. SD had cut off all communication with DH and I when her sixteenth birthday had occurred, so not sure how I was supposed to make that gift to her (or why I would even want to), when she refused to return our calls, texts, letters, and emails for over six months.

After what she did to my property, and showed me her over-the-top level of entitlement, I cancelled the order for her hope chest. Her mommeee can get her one if she wants it so bad. No longer on my list of to-do's, that's for damn sure.

Saturday, I took a loveseat from my living room to the landfill. SD14 had completely destroyed it before returning to her BM for good in August. It couldn't be saved. She also destroyed miniblinds in several rooms, ruined the walls of her room with adhesives and staples, and caused an ant infestation with food hidden in her room. She wouldn't admit she EVER did anything wrong.

It just passes me off more that I wasn't told and they tried to cover it up! I don't get it!?
