Been awhile...

So It's been forever since my last post.

The skids, for the most part, have gotten under control. SD12 is still a bit of a challenge, but as she grows/matures it's very clear that many of her issues are a direct result of her needing to learn how to cope with her mother's mental illness. SD recently stole some things from my MIL to give to her mother "as birthday gifts." SD also still has some issues with making up things that go on in this house or talking bad about me (or us) in order to have her mother's attention. I do not believe, at all, that SD understands the consequences of her behavior. However, there are consequences. For this reason alone I find it difficult to want to be around her. Mind, I don't avoid the skids like I used to, I just don't go out of my way to really spend time with them. I have learned, the hard way, that when I try to have a good time with the skids that their mother loses her mind. Who wants her all flared up? Not me. She isn't worth the drama.

Speaking of the crazy ass BM, she is just as crazy as usual. Always up to her old tricks. She told us that her divorce was final in February, but then we find out from a 3rd party that she is still married. What was the point in lying about that? *eye roll* She will have one of the skids call us to ask for money, but at least she doesn't call herself. Whatever. Her oldest daughter is about to graduate and go off to college, at which point (according to the skids) she plans on becoming a foster parent. I laughed and said, "gonna be kind of hard to do that with her criminal record." But, the reality is, OF COURSE she wants to become a foster parent - she needs to keep that "free" money rolling in. She's so useless.

SS is okay. He's still a dick most of the time. Since SD is her mother's scapegoat/whipping child, SS has learned (very well I might add) how to blame his sister for everything. He is his mothers little golden child, so naturally he is flourishing in his mothers home. SD is the one who gets ignored and kicked around. Wish I could help, but my help isn't welcomed, so I just get to sit and watch the train wreck from the sidelines.

EDITED TO ADD: We are up for a CS recalculation this year (around May), so I give it only a month or two before she loses her mind about some shit and really starts to stir it up.

My BS is about to graduate this year. He's doing well.

I've just been thinking about all of my ol' blog buddies on here and decided to pop in to see how everything was going.
