Christmas
I’m not sure how much I want to post about this online but late Christmas Eve DH decided SD needed to be hospitalized again for her safety. She’ll be there for at least another week. Hopefully they can find a combination of meds that works this time – that doesn’t have all of the side effects.
Christmas without SD wasn’t exactly as peaceful as it sounds. After what happened, it was difficult to immediately change gear and have a happy celebration. We pushed back having Christmas morning until the 26th.
DD 3.5 is upset and doesn’t understand what is going on with SD (her half-sister) & I’m not sure I really want to even explain to her why SD had to go to the hospital. My dad had heart surgery a few months ago so DD thinks all hospitals are like the one she visited her grandpa at. SD is refusing to even talk to her dad, so there’s no way DD can visit her. Nor do I want her there.
I hope this can make a difference can fix the problems with SD but I’m not sure it’s that easy nor are meds a magic bullet that can solve all the problems.

What did she do that made
What did she do that made your DH decide this? Has she been suicidal? I thought she was more of a defiant, Tasmanian devil type kid.
She's been hospitalized
She's been hospitalized before for suicidal ideation but never taken it this far before.
Tasmanian devil is a good way to describe her. She's full of anger and rage. She's been escalating what she refuses to do to the point she's refused to do even basic things and eating. It's not what u would expect with a very sad person who is suicidal. She is full of so much anger.
Oh hope they can find a way
Oh hope they can find a way to help her (that she can't manipulate her way out of!).
I dealt with this a few years
I dealt with this a few years back. My SD is bipolar. If you want to talk, I am around at night.
My thoughts are with you.
