Happy Friday - someone won the lottery & it isnt me

CLove's picture

Toxic Troll, who has been building up a case the past 4 years, hoping to win a big payout, informed Munchkin SD14, that she "won her case and is getting more money..." She doesnt know that that means, just that she will be buying an SUV after she gets the cash.

Im hoping its not another BMW with expectations of my husband working on it.

Munchkin is stressed that her mother will "splurge" and they will be back in the same place. We spoke at length last night about various things, and she shared with me her fears about Toxic Troll and her splurging that will waste all the money. It was all "we" this and "we" that. But, it was nice to be hanging out, talking without conflct and moodyness.

Toxic Troll told Dh previously, that she was being offered 1 million but she was holding out for 2.3 million. Not just for a head injury, she sued for negligence. I wonder how much she will actually get after lawyer fees.

UGH. DH and I actually WORK and STRUGGLE for what we have and she is getting it served up on a silver platter. Not working and not even picking up books from her daughter's school.

I wonder if DH will still be required to pay her child support? It doesnt seem fair that he would, but after reading these boards for years, Ive accepted that nothing goes fairly.

Silver-lining - she will probably let us claim Munchkin SD on taxes for 2020. Negligence awards are non-taxable from what Ive read. Whatever crumbs we can get, we will take.

Its hot here - 90's soon.

Im in a funk.

You and I know TT will screw up, waste money, fail to use it to plan a secure future, etc.  It won't go as far as she thinks and that's after the lawyer gets their cut.  Get the popcorn out.

But look on the bright side.  Munchkin won't be going with her to look at substandard apartments to move into, she will probably have something better than a beanbag to sleep on and just maybe, some of her educational expenses will be covered.

You and DH will have to be the stable family more than ever.  Big changes, even good ones, affect people differently.  Munchkin will learn a lot from this experience.  Various members of my family have experienced big up and down events.  It will be interesting for all.

I think she will spend money like a "drunken sailor" as they say, thinking theres more than there is.

I was thinking the same way - now she will get a bed and maybe a better place to live where she has her own room. And college paid for so she doesnt have student loans. A definite silver lining.

The lawyer will get a BIG cut as he has been working pro bono for 4 years...

So Spawn had a wrongful termination action against her previous employer, she was suing for 1 million. She got 20 grand which she claims she had to split with another person so she really only got 10 grand, probably not even that much after lawyer fees. I will keep my fingers crossed it's the same for TT, she's claiming a big payday and then gets less than half of what she expectes.

I hope for a bed for munchkin and thats it. Even with less than half she will be sitting pretty.

It would be nice if TT would do something right for her kid, I just don't see it...I see that money poof gone and nothing really to show for it.

Toxic Troll sounds like my SD. There's always a big payout in the wings, but it never materializes. You can hold out for whatever pie in the sky amount you have in your head, but until it's in your bank account, it isn't yours.

How many  stories has she told Munchkins that actually were true? This could be the one, but my skepticism says probably not.

CLove's picture

Munchkin has heard all the stories.

In fact, when I mentioned "you practically have to be decapitated to get over a million dollars for a head injury", she piped up with:

"In San Diego, someone sued for something like what she is and they got over 9 million dollars."

SOMEONE is being coached...

But, like what the heck do I know.

Toxic Troll lies, but the bank account will tell the truth...

BM here will supposably get a large inheritance when her parents pass.  Im hoping her sister gets it all to hang over her head. But if she does get it, it won't last. She's horrible with money and spends it as fast as she gets its it.  This is the person who uses student loans to take vacations. But, DH's lawyer said should she get a large inheritance it will not count as her income in regards to how child support is calculated.

What grinds my gears right now is im pretty certain she is getting the inflated covid unemployment. This woman hasn't worked a full time job ever in her life nor maintained a job long term.

BM here is claiming PUA.  Except that she's working remotely and her reduction in hours is voluntary.  She also doesn't fall into any of the eligibility requirements.  But she is claiming she can't work because she has to stay home with her kids.

Meanwhile, they're here 50% of the time (and we are working remotely as well), they've been in camps all summer and they're going back to school in person (we're just below 1% positive in the region).

So... I totally feel you on that one.  Although at least this one actually works.  Or did?  Ha!

@CLove - even if there is an iota of truth to what TT is spewing she is the type of person to turn good fortune into misfortune.

Try not to see it as someone seemingly unworthy catching an undeserved break.  What it amounts to is another soft pitch at which she will swing wildly and miss.  And then be a poor sport about.

She (maybe?) has a chance at redemption, a chance to be the person she claims she would be if only something, anything ever went right for her and money wasn't an issue.

You know what will happen?  Not a d@mn thing.  She will still be a mess of a person and an even worse mother to those girls.  She'll just have a little money for a split second to do it in different ways.

Nothing that does or doesn't happen in your life will change that.  Nor, does it seem, will anything in hers.  The money won't change her or her situation. She will still be TT.  That's a pretty sad reality for her to face.

CLove's picture

She will still be herself. Toxic and a Troll. No amount of money can change that. Turn good fortune into misfortune  - I like that one!

Im hoping at least Munchkin gets a bed set...I know she wont get a vacation because then who will watch the dog?

This is the woman whose fantastic Hawaii vacation lasted 3 days. She's not getting 2.3 million. Or even a million. I say 25k after lawyer's fees and she will wreck the new SUV in a week. Don't be jealous of her. She's a miserable person.

Oh, and yes, he will still have to pay child support, most likely.

CLove's picture

When I find out what she is willing to cop to, Ill post it. YES.

Cannot fix miserable with money, honey. I wish I could sky write that over her apartment complex.

Wait.. munchkin doesn't have a bed??! My guess is TT will  not be getting what she's claiming. Hopefully munchkin gets a bed out of this though.

CLove's picture

Feral Forger took the bed and Munchkin got a giant bean bag.
