He has been served....now what

Charly's picture

My ex was served last week with the papers I filed for the modification. He has said nothing. Not a word. We met on Saturday for him to get our boys, and he said nothing, didn't even make eye contact with me, which is normal behavior for him during conflict...he's very passive.

So now what. I have to wait. I'm not very good at waiting. I am thinking that he was waiting to talk to the boys and see how they feel. One of them wants to go to my town, the other has a good friend in exh's town and he wants to go there so he can see that friend... though neither of them really care for exh's girlfriend and her daughter. The daughter calls my ex Dad and that really upsets one of my boys...

I am so very anxious right now. I have no idea how all of this is going to turn out. I just want all of this to be over.

You have to play it cool and let him make the next move. He may be waiting for you to say something.

Thanks for the info. Mazzy!

She does have her bio dad in her life. The kids feel like exh's girlfriend and her daughter have moved in on their Dad and pushed them out. He moved her in, moved all of their things in, moved the boys into the same room together, gave the daughter a room of her own, moved all things familiar out of their home, gave their bedroom furniture away to exh's girlfriends family, and bought them a futon to share. The daughter is younger, and an only child. The boys feel like they are always getting the shaft, one of my boys feels very strongly about this and is in tears when he talks about it. I have encouraged him to talk to his Dad about the situation and tell him how they feel, but they say it won't help... Sad So I don't think it's just the her calling their Dad Dad, it's a mixture of a lot of things.
