Bm left town and left SS with a convicted felon and didn't tell us

Went on BM's facebook today and see that she is left town last night with her fiance and won't be back until later in the week. Does she call and tell DH that "hey, I'm leaving town for a heads up can you watch SS?" NO! Instead she doesn't call and tell us anything and leaves SS with her brother, a convecticted felon who wait for it, was convicted of child endangerment. He had his infant daughter in the car and was running and selling drugs across state lines, ya thats who you leave a child with. This brother moved in with her a few months ago and he has been watching him and hour here or there, not ideal but we can deal.....but for days at a time? SS has told us that his uncle doesn't make sure he's fed and if he says he is hungry microves him a kid cuisine and gives him a little debbie.

Now I get that we live an hour and a half away(her choice she moved) so SS would miss school if he came here for these days she's gone but we could get his schoolwork and I could do it with him. It wouldn't kill him to miss a few days of school if I did his work with him. We should have been told that she was leaving town if it effects SS, why can't this woman be a parent. First rule......don't leave your child with a felon who can't even get custody of his own kid.
Vent over.

Our BM did this more times than we know about but it was the final time that she got caught and the skids now live with their Dad.

Call CPS. Nowadays when a person is convicted of child endangerment or abuse, they have to register with a system that schools and day cares can call to check their past....well BM had to when she was sentenced for child neglect and endangerment.

Do they have to regester if they are just a brother living with BM? Because he isn't technically a care provider just a person living there.

I would definitely place a call to CPS. Give them a copy of her fb page and any documentation you have on her and her brother. Maybe your DH might consider going for custody. I would feel very worried if I knew my ex was leaving our kid with a felon.
