Sk free vacation!!

So recently DH & I planned a trip to Vegas together for later this month. Because we're going to be gone for a week I insisted that we bring BS1 with us because I've never been away from him for more than a night & after a day or 2 I'd just miss him too much. Well, MIL caught wind that we were taking our son but leaving SK's with BM & she threw a fit. She's always on me for not taking a more active role & having SK's more. Whatever. We planned this trip as a way to relax & bringing SK's would not be relaxing at all. Is it unfair to expect them to be better behaved before we take them on big vacations? We take them camping & fishing, I'm just struggling with wanting to take them on our big trips when we'll just be dealing with sulking & demands. I think i'll wait until I'm relaxing by a pool in Vegas with peace & quiet & a cold, fruity drink in my hand to gage how guilty I feel about leaving them.

DH and I want to go to Vegas, but NO WAY would we even think of taking BS1 or SD5... Actually my son has been in another country for a month, and it has been GREAT! I sure miss him A LOT, but I needed the break, SD5 has been gone for 3 weeks too...

Our vacation is over though, SD will be here either today or tomorrow and I will be traveling to get my son on Tuesday...

It's not like you are going to six flags or something! LOL

My DH and I took our daughter who was 1 at the time on our anniversary vacation, we go every year to Helen GA. But we didn't take any of the other kids, mine or his!

I think we will next year though......dunno yet.

Anyways, there's no reason in the world why you and your DH can't make any plans that do not involve the SK's. Your MIL will just have to get over it.

My sis & her husband are going to meet us there & they have a young child too. We figured we'd switch off with the kids. ~Bookgirl~

I was just curious! Seems like everytime I go to Vegas, I see some moron with a kid walking down the strip. Vegas is no place for kids!

that there are a lot of things for kids there, so if you can just go and come many times, or if you have a lot of money and go with a babysitter FINE, take the kids in one of those times, but if you are going in a ONE TIME thing, just make an effort and don't take the kids, and if you don't wanna leave the child(ren) because of being too young, then don't go to VEGAS until they get older...

on every daggon corner, there's a hooker, or someone passing out fliers with naked people on them or shows w/nude people in them...just NOT a place for kids....
