Auteur - Your menu made my mouth water! What time do I need to be there with the Wine and Godiva chocolates? Smile

Five p.m. Lol Of course the penalty is that you'll have to sit down at the table with the obnoxious GG!!

My bios are coming and their spouses/SOs

They will have to endure GG. . .or WILL they? GG traded with a co-worker to be on call this weekend as his co-worker does a "big easter" thing with church and all.

Maybe someone will call about no heat just before dinner!!! One can only hope!!

Auteur, BM sent my DH 3 texts last night. #1 - What are you doing for Easter? #2 - Did you get something nice for DD to wear? #3 - Talk to me about our son how's he doing?

My DH's response? Nothing, Zilch, ZERO. Ignored ALL 3 texts! LOL! We have SD10 this weekend so BM is all up in our business asking what our plans are. Like lady, why do you care?

Heh heh! I used to go all out for the skids, it was Xmas part TWO!!! But as the years dragged on and they became more and more PASinated, to the point where Prince Hygiene at age 6 literally turned his chair around so that his back was facing me and totally went out of his WAY to exclude me from easter egg dying. . .even though I had bought all the supplies for him!

The last Easter we had was Easter 09 (actually on a Saturday as the Behemoth always had the spawn for church activities) with PH. The other skids had already PASed out. He did this little "snub" toward me, was totally acting as though I didn't exist.

"Dad, how about you and me dye Easter eggs!" blah blah

Well PH got DOLLAR STORE candy, the cheapest I could find and a used Easter basket from the VOA!!

Takes two to tango!!

You're better than me. Easter is just another ole day in our house. We lay around in our pj's and watch tv. All the cutesy crap, bonnets, baskets and nonsense stopped I'd say about 5 years ago! Please, I have no time for that nonsense.

My SS18 will be coming for Easter dinner and I'm ok with that. But I made a special request for dinner this year. See, SS doesn't like ham so we haven't had an Easter ham for dinner in the past 16 years. SS usually spent most of the holiday with BM and her family, so he would make a late afternoon appearance and only eat a few bites because he was already full. So why are we catering to the skid who isn't eating when the rest of us want a ham?!

This years menu: HAM!, homemade scalloped potatoes, and green beans. For dessert I'll be making a pineapple-upside-down cake.

And I'm not making Easter baskets for SS18 and his GF20. That's just silly.

Happy Easter everyone!

I can't believe you went that long w/o serving a traditional menu item just b/c spoiled SS doesn't like it!

To hell with the skids!! If GG's spawn come back there will be NO special meals. . . at least I won't be making them and I'll cook what I WANT to cook, skids be damned!!

Easter baskets?? No way for a skid that old!!

I wasn't a huge ham fan either but Mom was tough. Eat it, don't eat it, there's plenty of other food you can eat instead. Smile Now I've developed a taste for it and Auteur's menu sounds wonderful!

It's the same way in my home with DH's kid....your choice is eat or go hungry. Dirol

My husband's sister-in-law and her family are Ukranian and I LOVE Easter with them. There will be purogies (sp?)but they call it something else. Pitihih or something? If I said purogies, I'm sure I'd get smacked, LOL. Anyway, we think of Easter with them as a giant meat fest and then all the breads and stuff! Yum!

Asked DH for a month...and today he tells me MIL wants to go to brunch on Easter. So that's it: brunch w/MIL. Every single holiday depends on what they want to do(in pecking order): Swins MIL tie for 1st place, him, me and dog tie for last place. And there will be golfing w/friends (or w/MIL) this weekend whenever he feels like it.

I feel for you big time!!

I'm making the most out of what may be the last of the PAS out days!!!

Sooner or later, VD (SD12) aka chronic liar, stealer, cheat, bad sport, horrendously loud, lazy, sloppy, devoid of all manners, completely obnoxious, utter ruffian, oversized bully, underachiever and proud of it, will be darkening my doorstep.

And along with the ONE who NEVER washes his hands, brushes his teeth, flushes or wipes, PRINCE HYGIENE (SS8)

Thankfully SS7 is at his moms, so he will get a choclolate bunny when he comes the next time(no basket this year because he is an intitaled brat, and he is getting one at his moms why does he need two) So I get to enjoy Easter watching my beautiful baby girl, 11mths now, enjoy her first easter and her first easter basket. Plus I am making a ham, mashedpotatos, green bean cassarole, and rolls just for us and am even making rainbow cake for dessert, why because I want it thats why. I am so exited for this weekend Sat. were taking my baby to get her picture taken with a live bunny....can't wait.

Skids 21 & 19 are here with DH and our two for the weekend. I am making pork roast, scalloped potatoes, asparagus, salad, devilled eggs, rolls and strawberry cheesecake for Easter dinner.

My two will get Easter baskets from the Easter bunny. I have a gift bag with some candy and a spring shirt for the skids. They are too old for Easter baskets, right?
