Blog Hog Today; Latest Quirk. . .Scarfing away School Correspondence

GG accused me the other day of throwing away his "Sleeping with the Enemy" movie, which he watches for "pointers" on how to treat a woman, but I digress.

So lately, he's acting like he doesn't trust me to file away all the school correspondence after he reads it. He's squirreling it away somewhere so I don't get my evil stepmother mits on it.

HA!

I still RULE the mail in my house! In retaliation (not that i CARE about that school crap) I am erasing all my texts on my phone in case snoopy GG goes a snoopin' again. I have nothing to hide, but any correspondence to and from Awesomeson would possibly send him into a tizzy and he'd use it as "ammo" against me. Hell he was upset that I introduced Awesomeson as the "baby of the family" to the next door neighbour. "HE'S NOT A BABY; HE'S A MAN!!"

I notice he always exaggerates how old awesomeson is, adds on a few years here or there, but with his own "babies" he is constantly subtracting years. Just yesterday he said that Brainiac was 13. UMMMM he's been FOURTEEN since last OCTOBER, you dopehead!!! I corrected him later on and reiterated that Brainiac is indeed 14.

It's like they want to remember their kids as infants forever so they don't have to deal with the fact that they are quickly becoming adult POS!!

This exact same thing just happened to me. Not only did he give the insurance company the wrong birthdate for me, but also tried to get the pharmacy to change their records. (They didn't because I've been using them for years.) I had to tell him 'No, swetheart, it's the day AFTER Halloween, not the day before!' It's taken me 2 weeks to get it all straightened out!

Hoarding clothes/shoes/coats they outgrew is my pet peeve. Why do we have to keep everything for 4 years after they grew out of it? Does he secretly hope they shrink back to fit into the stuff? And if I take it to Goodwill? That's crossing the line. Is this a common thread in Disney Dads? A twisted Peter Pan syndrome.

Exactly! I think they cling to old outgrown skids stuff thinking that they'll be able to retrieve a wonderful relationship that they once had (read: that they NEVER had but fantasize about)
