OT - Things to pair with Wine

Aniki-Moderator's picture

I'll start with some wine and cheese...

Bleu cheese and Anjou pear slices and riesling

Focaccia bread topped with thinly sliced pear, bleu cheese crumbles, broiled, and drizzled with honey (and pinot grigio)

Macaroni and extra sharp cheddar cheese and cabernet

Four cheese pasta (parmesan, romano, mozzarella, gorgonzola) and chardonnay

Tomato basil feta frittata and Beaujolais

Gruyere grilled cheese and sauvignon blanc

Marieke on rosemary crackers and merlot

Goat cheese spread liberally on a water cracker, topped with any kind of sweet, fruity goodness (cherry butter, blackberry jam, plum butter) and moscato

Generously spread St. Angel on a hunk of crusty French bread, drizzle with honey and chenin blanc

Seafood salad and Gewürztraminer

like any Margarita with any nachos.
I like a crisp white wine with bruschetta also, or caprese salad...

Pixie, I'm trying to remember... there is a white wine you can drink while you eat powdered-sugary key lime cookies and it tastes like a margarita. Maybe a vignoles...

OK this post is just not fair. Now I am salivating and have none of this in the house.

Grilled salmon and a Pinot Noir from Oregon.
Salted caramels and a very dry French Growers Champagne.

HEAVEN

I make a Pinot noir mushroom sauce when I make salmon. I'm pretty sure salmon and Pinot noir are made for each other.

Now I want a variety of cheese, smoked salmon or trout, and a some Gewürztraminer.

no kidding!!!

i've had various cheeses today - bagel w/ cream cheese, port wine and crackers, smoked mozz w/ sundried tomato and crackers, then a cheese-steak sub w/ a ton of melted provolone (all between the hours of 9 and 1).

there are some lovely pairings mentioned, but hey, cheese goes with EVERYTHING!!!

Sex toys, wine, then cheese. Get your priorities straight. If anything is left over, food for the family if they have been pleasant. If not, another butterfly.

Oh, I love how you multitask. I might get some berry flavored JO (your new best friend) to put in the middle and call them crepes.

Sex toys before wine and cheese?? :jawdrop:

As long as my DH is in working order, I don't need any sex toys. }:)

robin333's picture

Anything with sex takes priority. Toys aren't just for solo use, even with working parts.

We went to a Mexican themed party on Saturday, so Sunday we ate leftovers. Tacos with LOTS of extra sharp cheddar, lettuce, and sour cream and Churro Cheesecake.
