I'm not sure why I continue to expect things to be different with BM. She continues however to surprise me with her new lows. We just got a text message from her (It's 10:45 where were at right now mind you...) And it said "SD5 hit her head and had to get a staple, shes fine just wash it twice a day, don't let her soak her head in the bathtub, and keep neosporin on it, it comes out saturday.........." (yes, she puts that many periods at the end of everything, she also doesn't properly know how to use an ellipse or whatever it's called (...) she ALWAYS puts 5, it annoys the hell out of me) Anyway, first of all, a 5 year old child getting a staple in their head is a pretty "big" deal if you will. Maybe it happened this evening, and they're just leaving the ER and that's why it took so long to text DH. BUT I'm going to doubt it because well, she "legally" (according to the CO) has 24 hours to report such things so I'm going to assume that it happened yesterday and she waited until right about her 24 hour time. We will find out tomorrow when we get the skids back. Secondly, what the hell did she hit her head on?! I mean, I understand kids get hurt, break bones, shit happens because well, they're kids...but it always seems like the TWO nights a week she has them, stuff is happening. Hell, once SD5 had a HUGE bruise on her back and when I asked her what happened she told me that a candle fell on her back...oh wait, and then "mom took a picture so we could remember what it looked like" yeah, when DCS showed up the next week on our front porch I was not surprised. Anyway, I just don't understand why she waited until so late to tell us, and then to act like we're stupid and don't know how to handle the injury (she knows I'm a nurse) and to give instructions to keep neosporin on it and what not? I mean really...send the exit paperwork with care instructions if you're that worried about it. I'm sure she's lost them. Oh well, guess we will find out tomorrow what REALLY happened. Ugh, not looking forward to dealing with a whiney 5 year old that is ALREADY a drama queen, can't imagine what she's going to be like now. IDK, maybe I will see her and feel bad for her. Afterall the poor kid did have to get a damn staple in her head. Which is another thing I can't quite put my finger on...usually they do stitches unless it's pretty deep. I will just have to take a look at it I suppose. Hope its IN her hair though so she doesn't have a ridiculous scar on her face. DH of course text back the proper questions "What did she hit her head on?" "When did this happen exactly?" "Is there a follow up visit with her PCP that we need to know about?" Because well, she said they're removing the staple (she said singularly so maybe there's only one...) on Saturday. So she must be having it done at the hospital...my mind is racing right now, sorry I'm rambling.

I think it is a pretty big deal too. SS4 (at the time was 2 1/2) was dropped off with three staples in his head. BM informed us that SS's brother (at the time may have been 18 months old) threw a thomas train at SS and hit his head. I don't care who you are, an 18 month old canNOT throw a toy hard enough to cause that. I called CPS the next day they were open. BM got pissed, because she "knew" it was me that called. I didn't care. When the toddler is saying "Brother didn't throw a toy at me, SF pushed me," I will call CPS. That is just crazy.

CPS bought her story, BTW. They also bought the story that her 18 month old had a broken leg because SS pushed him off the front porch. SS to this day says that his brother fell off a table from inside the house.

Don't you just love CPS? We had pictures of bruises on the kids bottoms clearly from a belt and they told us what had happened (not that I'm against spanking children at all, but a 4 year old with bruises on his ass is a little harsh) anyway we called the police instead of CPS bc they had failed us before, the police filed the report with CPS that time but...bc BM didn't answer her phone or the door, they closed the case. Guess that's protocol!! It still shocks me, mostly bc we've never done anything "wrong" and when CPS comes knocking they treat us like freaking criminals!!
