I've been overruled

My husband gave the green light to our 17 year old son to spend the weekend away with his 14 year old girlfriend and her family. Now they are going to expect the same whenever they ask.

Everyone knows how I feel, or maybe they're clueless. I guess I must be the proverbial evil stepmother. Oh excuse me I have to run, the small child I lured into my house with candy is almost through baking.

Let's hope that everything turns out o.k. with it then. I still agree with you! Keep us posted!

Too funny about the evil stepmother but that really is how we start to feel!!!!

Are you starting to get a complex? I always told my stepkids I had eyes in the back of my head, and after awhile, they really started to believe it, because I knew what they had done before they even told me! Hope for the best is about all you can do. The worse that can happen is they crash and burn and learn the hard way. It'll be fine.

Sweetie

I'm not sure if you wold call it a complex, it just has become more challenging as the children age. They are pushing hard on the boundaries of what they know is allowed and that is what is tough.

When I came into this ready made family it always felt like mine. The boys always call me Mom, and they know I love them fully. I also have rewarded them for good and punished them for bad. They accept it, they just may not like it at times.
