immature and pathetic!

my SD14 posted pictures of her and a friend posing for a selfie at the mall with the Easter Bunny. WTF.

That's actually pretty normal for a kid that age. Not sure why you would think that is a WTF moment.

And FYI..I saw a few 50 year old women do the same thing a few years ago. Its just all in good fun. No need to even make it a blip on your radar.

Calypso1977's picture

WTF because she tied up the line (i assume) where some age appropriate child was waiting to see the bunny.

and no duck face. just her mouth and tongue hanging out with a peace sign. the only thing she knows how to do in photos.

I call that the "Miley Cyrus" face! Annoys the hell out of me! HHB uses the same face every other pick she is in...other half of the time it's the duck.

Not to bust your chops but you sound like a jealous teenager. (jealous of your SD)

No childs life was ruined because your SD took a picture with the Easter bunny. Good grief...you are taking this way out of proportion.

Add me to the immature list. I'm 47. My sister's family and I are heading down to Disney world next month for Easter break. Their kids are 17,16,9 and 8. My sister's 46th birthday is the day after Easter. You better believe that my sister and I will not think twice about hopping in line to take some pictures with the characters WITHOUT her kids. Hell, I booked the princess breakfast in Cinderella's castle to kick off her birthday.

There's nothing with having good, clean fun regardless of your age.

Seriously? I would do this now, whats wrong with having a little fun? You say she tied up the line for age appropriate kids? As long as you are a paying customer you have as much right as the next person to take a pic with the Easter Bunny, Santa, Uncle Sam, Dracula.....

Calypso1977's picture

sorry, i still stand by my thoughts.

i would never allow my 14 year old to do this. then again, my 14 year old would never have a smartphone to begin with.

14 year Olds aren't attached to their parents' hips. They WILL do things when they are with their peers that they can't /won't do with you. If you're lucky, they will only do innocent, fun things like this.

Really? And what else is bothering you? It would seem to me that there has to be far more to your keying on a 14yo taking selfies with her BFF and the Easter Bunny as immature and pathetic.

When I was 14 and on the cusp of transitioning to young adulthood I used to play with my 8yo little brother and his blocks, trains, Legos, and Fisher Price toys. Less than a year later I was playing a fake guitar, wearing KISS concert makeup from my BFF's upstairs balcony to a crowd of other Jr. High kids.

Immature and pathetic? That depends on your perspective.

So, what is really bothering you?

Was she doing fish/duck lips in the BFF bunny pics? If she was ... then I am totally on board with immature and pathetic.

I was Paul Stanley one year for Halloween! Which one were you? I'm thinking Gene....... }:)

I hate the hand on the one hip in every photo. It just annoys me because there wasn't one HS photo of SD19 without her hand on her hip OR a duck-face. LOL Annoying, but just a personal thing for me.

Better selfies with the Easter Bunny than nude selfies she's sending to boys, right?

No biggie.

Though the photographer in me loves having a camera on my phone to have to ability to spontaneously capture something beautiful that has caught my eye (a flower, butterfly, the way the shadows just fall on a building, etc.), I often think the camera phone with wifi capability paired with social media is one of the worst combinations on the planet! The combination is helping to create one of the most narcissistic generations we have ever seen! Everywhere you turn...people taking selfies to immediately post to the web. People feel the need to let the entire world know 24/7 where they are, what they are eating, what they are doing, etc. Then, there are the duck faces, peace signs, tongues out everywhere, and this stupid gesture that is supposed to mean "fierce" or "basic b***h" (depends what thing you read on the interwebs):

Seriously! No one really cares! Sure, I have social media...post maybe once a week, if even that often. I have a Facebook page for my photography, and one for my fitness stuff where I try to post motivation and information about getting and staying healthy. I have an Instagram account, again, for photography stuff...post and share quick snaps of things that caught my eye...which I guess I mistakenly thought something like Instragram was for (not really another Facebook). The pictures you find of me on social media are pictures that other people have taken of me that they have tagged me in. LOL...my profile picture is a funny picture I took of a zebra at the zoo, and isn't me at all!

But look at HHB's accounts...selfie, selfie, selfie, selfie! "Hello world, I'm tired and going to bed now." "Hello world, I'm dying my hair again for the billionth time because it hasn't all fallen out yet." "Hello world, I'm bored." "Hello world..." "Sorry I haven't posted in a while...I got grounded." Like the "world" really cares!! Just because you have all those followers, doesn't mean all those people care about you! Seriously, I think half those followers are pedophiles who like all the boob-selfies HHB posts! And then, there is the liking of your own posts! Seriously? If you didn't like it, you wouldn't have posted it, so do you have to like every single one of your own posts? Oh, yeah, I looked that one up on the interwebs...seems people do this to get more people to see their posts, thus they can get more likes! Sorry, if your life revolves around how many people like the stuff you post on the interwebs, you have problems!

Sorry for the rant...just annoying as hell...not just HHB, but people in general! This problem is starting to bleed into my generation. I can't tell you how many people I've had to stop following because I got tired of the never-ending selfies and food porn pics!

CantKeepDoingThis's picture

Oh, the girl seriously thinks she is some Instagram celebrity with some 400+ followers! Like I said, I'm pretty sure a good chunk of those are pedophiles looking for the latest boob selfie!
