I had all MY children to the house last night, my sister and everyone's boy/girlfriend. My oldest daughter is getting married and her fiancee's folks came in from out of state & we hosted a dinner for them. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was on time. No drama. It was perfect. My daughter helps me in the kitchen.

Now, everytime we have his kids over------they change their arrival time at the last minute, the minute they walk in they take over the tv and have to watch some sport. I feel uncomfortable asking questions about their school or work because I don't want them to think I am prying; so my mouth pretty much stays shut.

I guess it is hard for me because I am not in control. With MY family I lead the way. With his family, his kids yank us around. NO WONDER. Thank God I don't have to deal with his kids more than a few times a year. I had a wonderful time last night with MY family.
