Been a while, but . . .

DD11 struck again. Actually, it's twice now two Mondays in a row.

Last Monday, she just decided she wasn't going to school. Locked herself in the bathroom. I missed my first two classes, but did get DD11 to school eventually.

This Monday, I get home at 3:30. Her school lets out at 3:15 and it is, at most, a 5 min. walk from her school to our house. The front door is unlocked, her house key is on her desk, and she is nowhere to be found. The school, Sherif, and neighbors were involved; she made it home safe.

I swear this kid is going to drive me into an insane asylum. Or kill me via heart attack. Her highs are so high, but her lows are so low.

Has she been tested for anything?
Is she in counseling?

WHY is she causing so many problems at such a young age?

(My reaction was HOLY SHIT, are you kidding me?!? Have you removed the locks from all doors in the house? Taken away everything she values? Do you, or have someone else, who will escort her happy ass to and from school? Sounds like this girl needs some major consequences!)

Yes, she sees a therapist once a week and a psychiatrist once every 3 - 4 weeks. She doesn't qualify for an IEP (so they tell me, I'm fighting this), but is on a 504.

She has a myriad of psychological issues ranging from major depressive dissorder to ocd to psychosis.

Sadly, this is technically an improvement over 8 months ago.

Actually, I am the BM for her. My skid I rarely see; my step-drama pretty well centers around ss's BM and the dh (doesn't) handle the issues.

Oh, I'm sorry, I missed that part. My SD has Reactive Attachment Disorder and displays similar behaviors. But RAD kids are usually abandoned or neglected early in life. Premature babies or babies that experienced pain early in life can also develop the disorder. But it could mainly be the depressive disorder you are seeing with your daughter. I am so sorry! I know how tough it is to raise a step with issues, I am sure it is even more difficult and heart wrenching when it is your bio.
