SS15 just got the okay from his probation officer yesterday to move to his mom's out of state once he finishes his community service hours (he will be done on Monday). He would have been able to finish his 90 day probation out of state, reporting to the office here once per month.

DH just called me. SS15 got busted for drinking on the school bus! I knew this kid was mental, but really, how stupid do you have to be. Another kid provided the alcohol (we do not keep any in our home) and that kid is busted as well.

I have no clue what this means, but surely, he will not be leaving anytime soon due to getting a minor. More court crap. The police were at the school and DH will get a call back once they get everything settled. He also gets a 4 day suspension...fantastic, I'm sure he'll LOVE not having to go to school. DH will be taking him to work with him each day where he will sit there, doing nothing, for the entire day.

I told DH to call the probation office immediately and find out exactly what this means. Also to find out if they can send him to a detention center. How bad do things have to really get before a kid can get sent to one? I know nothing about how this stuff works, but he needs a serious **cking wake up call.

So now he will probably be here indefinitely, and we (DH) get to be a babysitter to a 15 year old brat. Wonderful.

I'm so disappointed. I was starting to fantasize about having them both out of the house. BM was about ready to book the flight for him.

I seriously cannot deal with this crap anymore. What in the hell is wrong with this kid? He yells about how much he can't wait to move to his mom's and is never coming back. SHE tells him to not mess it up (his probation) or he won't get to come. Well guess what SS15? You just blew it, dumbass.

What do we do now? What do I do now?

what a nightmare!

i don't know what he was on probation for, but i don't see him going to court for drinking at school, isn't the suspension his punishment?? and if he were leaving to go to bm's anyway, he would be changing schools, right???

i don't think calling the probabtion officer was the way to go. get the release for him to leave and send him on his way!

Sounds like he is in legal trouble as well as trouble with the school (police involved and the minor in possession charge). Unfortunately, the PO will be notified regardless.

UGH, I'd be so pissed if I were you, Tiger. I mean, what would they do if the kid had no choice but to move? What if you guys were being transferred or something? They would HAVE to work something out with transferring his case.

He needs to go to some facility, not to mom's. She will not get him the help he is screaming out for....He needs to go today, before he robs a liquor store or some other level of stupid....

Working in my local county, I have little respect for probation officers. Probably just me but they seem far too lenient IMHO.

I will try to give you a little ray of sunshine here... in my state, drinking on school property is in violation of the "code of conduct" and would have been an imediate 5 day suspension and a superintendant hearing, which could likely result in an extended suspension of weeks or months. So you are lucky that you are only stuck with him for 4 days!

funny, I was just talking to a probation officer friend of mine (not pals from experience haha) and I asked him why in the world the courts seem so reluctant to send these monsters away to detention facilities or residential treatment centers. He said that it's because when a judge sends them away like that, the County is the one who has to pay for their stay there and it is an exhorbitant amount of money... so you can figure that one out. Such a crock.

Sorry you are having to deal with his, as I highly suspect I will be here in the near future posting about something similar since SS who just turned 13 today has already been caught shoplifting, smoking pot and Lord knows what else....

I would pay for the flight...load him up and send him anyways. Let the BM deal with it.

After what I read yesterday...no way. He needs to be out of your home immediately.
