Need help/advice on how to deal with a step daughter who takes a lot of energy to be around.

Want It To Work's picture

My mate's youngest daughter has anxiety and depression issues.

She continually makes poor decisions but no one can tell her anything. Always has a need, need, need, want, want, want, me, me, me disposition.

If things don't go the way she hopes they will she becomes impossible to be around.

Takes a lot of energy to be around her.

How do I learn to just let things go and not worry about her and her and the poor decisions she makes?

Thanks.

Need way more info dear! How old is SD? Where is BM? And what are you proposing to "let go" what kind of "poor decisions" is she making? like she makes a poor choice to eat ice cream for breakfast instead of cereal poor choice? Or she makes a poor choice to have sex in her bedroom at age 12 type choice??

I find wine helps.

But yes, if you give some more details we may be able to offer more specific advice.
