Christmas Is Coming. . .

thinkthrice's picture

I'm sure there was a thread on this but. . .worst Christmas gift ever.

In this case a "Christmas gift to Chef" (TM) by SD, at the time stb 10.

An envelope filled with about 40 odd pennies and a broken pencil which came postage due.

A tongue depressor with scribblings on it supposedly representing a face/snowman by YSS, stb 7 at the time (honestly looked like a 3 year old had made it with no supervision).

I guess it's the thought that counts (passive aggressive thoughts, that is)

Please feel to add to the discussion Lol

YSD was probably 16 when she gave DH a pair of underwear for Christmas. Not sure why a 16 year old would give her dad underwear...

I know it is not strictly relevant as it was a birthday present and not a Christmas gift, but in the first year we were married, SD (then 18) gave IPOD-H a box of condoms for his birthday. To prevent me from getting knocked up!

Pity Miss-Know-It-All didn't use a condom or birth control because she is 20, pregnant, unemployed and has no post school education. Lovely.

Circus left town but the monkeys are still here.

This one takes the cake. SD is one classy chick. Sounds like the karma bus hit her head on. Biggrin Biggrin Biggrin Maybe your DH should return the favor and give her a box of condoms for her birthday.

My adult SDs are probably the worst in this regard as they give no gifts. They claim to be perpetually broke. Whatever.

My exSDs gave gifts. The most horrid one was wine with wine paraphenalia like aerator (sp?) and other stuff included like a fancy cork. The catch is my exSO was recovering alcoholic and at that time was recovering and didn’t touch alcohol for 3 months, SDs were informed. Even if he wasn’t in the process once again trying to quit, you dont buy alcoholics alcohol with fancy stuff to make drinking more fun. A$$holes.

The only gift DH has ever gotten from SSs was $20 with a lined piece of paper that said, "Happy Father's Day!" What made it the worst gift was that after giving that to him, SSs wanted him to buy them something. When he said no, they replied that they knew he had money, because they had just given them some. I said to them, "so you expect your dad to spend his Father's Day present on you?"

He has received nothing else...ever from either of them. Not even a card.

Coming in similarly at number 2: A hastily printed ink printer birthday card (ink still wet) --with three lotto tickets--one for each skid!!
