SD8 didn't get my truffles this time!

Just a real quick thing here. Besides SD8 just being up to her same asshole antics, this one really bugs me.

SD8 is very overweight. Weighing in at about 115lbs. I swear I have tried everything. Every sport I put her in (she asks to play) she whines and complains, its a straight up fight to make her go after one practice. She hates that it is "work". She complains that she has to run too much or whatever else.

For years now, DH and myself have monitored exactly what she eats and how much. Our problem has become that she constantly gets up while we are sleeping and takes food that she knows she is not suppose to have. I have tried to eliminate keeping anything in the house that would she would take. Its not like she will steal an apple or something, she goes straight for the junk. The week after Mother's Day, DH's Grandma had made me a box of truffles, I came home from work and half the box was gone thanks to SD8. Yesterday I went grocery shopping, DH works a lot and really crazy hours, he has this issue where if he doesn't eat at least a little every couple hours he get all out of it. So I bought some crackers and pop tarts that were on sale. I threw them in his work van, mainly to keep them out of SD8's reach. He ended up bringing one un-opened box of pop tarts in the house and hiding them in the pantry last night. I came home for lunch today and was digging through the pantry and found the box... empty.. he just happened to call. I asked why on Earth he would shove an empty box of pop tarts in the pantry and how in the hell did he eat an entire box of pop tarts in one day. This was the big box, not the small box. He told me he didn't and that he hid the unopened box this morning. Sooooo... SD8 apparently sometime this morning took them all! WTH. I searched her room and didn't find anything (except all the clean laundry I asked her to put away yesterday shoved to the back of her closet).

I feel like I have exhausted every punishment/reward. I have tried to put her in sports/activities not only for the exercise but also to occupy her time and help her not think about eating. I just don't know what to do anymore. I do know that DH is super pissed, I think mainly because those were his pop tarts that he doesn't get that often because I try to refrain from buying crap like that.

(I realize her eating habits could generate from some emotional whatever she is going through. She is in counseling.)

How do I deal with this?

I to have a eating disorder and it started as a control thing then developed into a coping skill. Being confronted makes it worse, could you both take up swimming together? Take some stress off you and gives SD a way of exercising without it hurting. Also, does anyone else in her family have the same eating disorder? Some are hereditary I have learned.

It's binge eating for sure. Not sure how to treat it though. I would bring it up to the counselor though.

SD12 is getting bigger by the month. She was my size this winter and she is now in XL tops and shorts. I don't even know how to clothes shop for her with her size.
Last month she said she wanted to use our treadmill and start eating healthier. I asked what she would like to eat and she replies, I don't know. So I buy only fruits, veggies and lean cuisine type of frozen dinners she could heat up herself and no snacks at all. I ended up throwing most of the fruits and veggies away and I'm eating the frozen dinners for lunch at work. She used the treadmill until she had her PE requirements for the 9 weeks in and it hasn't been used since.

I took her and my grandsons to the store a few weeks ago so they could get stuff they wanted to eat. GS10 wanted lots of fruit and Honeycombs. SD wanted a bag of mint oreos, she ate them in 48 hours and the boys didn't like the mint, she wanted freeze pops (boys ate a few of them too), Dr Pepper and something else junk.

We keep any snack food in our bedroom...it is the only room upstairs so she is never up there. She starts counseling in 2 weeks b/c of stuff with her Mom so I'm going to talk to the couselor about that too.

She has a emotional eating problem I know I have the same disease and I call it a disease because well it is in every way shape or form.

It is highly mental I learned of mine after I got my lapband. And then had an emotional break down and really struggled to figure out why I could not get myself straight again.

It is an addiction, and a bad one at that because unlike alcohol you need food to live
