Last night DF, the skids, and I sat down to watch the movie "Up" (if you haven't seen it yet, you should!). In the beginning there is a part where the couple is preparing a nursery.

SD5 asks me, "SteppingUuuuup, when are YOU going to have a baby?" I told her we have to get married first. Then she says, "Well when are you gonna get married anyway? I've been waiting FOREVER!" and she rolls her eyes in a sassy way. Then SS2 pipes in with his copying echo, "Yeah! We wait fo' EVA!" and rolls his eyes too. We giggled at them and just said we all have to wait just a little longer.

-- PS. We're engaged with no date set yet, we've been trying to smooth out our finances first.

Both skids sit back down to watch the movie. All of a sudden, SD5 stands up, turns around, puts her hands on her hips and scrunches up her face. At first I thought something was really wrong! She gets a bit of a panic in her voice and she says, "But how did Mommy have US if she wasn't even MARRIED?" She seriously looked like her brain was going to explode as she tried to wrap her mind around the thought!

Luckily, DF made a joke and said, "Well, the Big Goose layed an egg and out you hatched!" She started giggling and let the subject go with that. We were laughing all night to ourselves about her poor confusion! Never did I realize she would think that because my answer to her was always that we needed to get married first, that she'd take it that it was an absolute prerequisite! Too funny!
