SELF-HELP BOOKS

I have been looking at some self-help books I thought could provide some guidance not only for my DH but me too as I have children of my own soon to be little adults. I have heard wonderful things about the Jim Burns book below:

1. Doing Life with Your Adult Children: Keep Your Mouth Shut and the Welcome Mat Out Paperback – March 26, 2019

by Jim Burns Ph.D

2. Now That They Are Grown: Successfully Parenting Your Adult Children

by Ronald J. Greer

3. Healing from Hidden Abuse: A Journey Through the Stages of Recovery from Psychological Abuse

by Shannon Thomas

Has anyone read any of these?

also, I started reading "Love like you have never been hurt" by Jentezen Franklin. It is a good book, about forgiveness, rebirth, and moving forward by letting go of past hurt. I just bought the book, dont judge.

Can't comment on the first two, but the Shannon Thomas one isn't bad.  I recommend "The Empathy Trap - Understanding Antisocial Personalities" by Jane McGregor which is relevant to the people that a lot of StepTalk members encounter.

"The Empathy Trap - Understanding Antisocial Personalities" is going on my reading list.  Sounds so appropriate for so many aspects of my life!  Thanks posting!

I would have tried The Borderline Mother, but in the UK it costs over £30 even for the Kindle version!  and £65 for hardback.  I will see if I can order it from my library.
